Hello, I'm not much of a fish fossil person, but I like the look of this and might throw it in with another order I'm making. It doesn't have much specific details though. It's just described as Liaoning Pipe Fish" and 150 million years old Jurassic. The fish itself is about 3 inches long. There's not much showing up on google images for chinese pipe fish to compare too, so maybe the species has a different name? If anyone can confirm it's as described or knows a more specific species for it, that would be great. Thanks

Alright time to nip this in the bud. Scored this wicked little thing on the Withlacoochee near where it meets the Suwannee, I’ve posted it in three other groups online and while I’ve had 30 claims as to it being a worn-down shark tooth, I’ve had an equal amount of disputes. Help me solve this mystery and I’ll upvote all of your posts from here on out. Edit: I put in under my pillow last night hoping to make a quick buck but the Fossil Fairy left me a note telling me to keep it.

This “rock” is heavy and quite magnetic. I am not noticing anything man made looking about it. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hey, So i realize this may be a complete shot in the dark, but i thought i'd give it a shot none the less.. I found it the other day, in Wenlock edge amongst the limestone pieces, and have no idea what it is, and whether or not it's worth taking time to fully clean it up (Iv'e give it a decent scrub the best i can, but what's left won't budge with elbow grease alone).. Anyway, i was wondering if anyone may have any idea as to what it may be.. Iv'e attached pics of the piece both wet and dry. Thanks

I decided to do a little experiment. awhile ago, I went to the canyon in the Snake River, and I found a bunch of gastropod shells. Not extinct, these were not fossilized. I decided to bring some home and compare them to a fossil gastropod shell that I had. I am aware that differences and similarities vary by species, but I don't know gastropod species that well, extinct or not. Pictures are attached under a magnifier. The white one is the living, the brown one is the extinct fossil. Due to file size, I'm posting the fossil on a different post. I want to invite others to point out what they notice is different and similar about the living and extinct gastropods. (Besides the obvious fossil/non-fossil) I'll point out what I notice myself later.

Found this in gravel from san jacinto river in Conroe Tx. Cpl pics of outside and then after I cut it open. Not sure if it's a type of fossil coral or something else. Any help is much appreciated!

I live in Northwest Indiana and my mom found this concretion. One side of it is fossilized though and has these indentions in lines. Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Where it would seem like the jawline, has lines like the circular insect/worm, but towards the back the ridges patter turns into a round bumps pattern, and also turning the fossil around there is a hole that would look like where the spine would be. otherwise it is just a mashup is sea bugs and shells. Not sure where this was found, probably in the PA Delaware river.

This long, black, and concave fossil looks like a fin, flipper, or something to that magnitude because of how smooth and dynamic it looks and feels. Any suggestions for this?
