    Mornington Finds

Hi all! I have recently returned from a quick fossil hunting trip from Fossil beach in Victoria. I believe that I may have found some fossils but I am not certain. I would also appreciate If anyone could give me tips on fossicking at Beaumaris and Mornington, e.g What to look out for and better ways to look for fossils. Thanks, Daniel Photo 1: Possible fossil fish jaw fragment? (Found at Beaumaris) Photo 2: Fossil Coral? (Found at Mornington) Photo 3: Fossil gastropod? (Found at Mornington)

  9. Does anyone know of any good places in New Jersey where you can legally look for, dig, and take dinosaur fossils/footprints?
  10. Hello to all fellow fossil enthusiasts, great to meet you! I am a long time reader and now would like to join this great community. As a kid I have been collecting fossils (ammonites & belemnites) in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland. Additionally, I very recently started to collect dinosaur fossils which I buy from fellow fossil hunters/preparators/collectors. It's kind of an expensive hobby and I get a lot of eye-rolling from my wife. However, the fossils put a big smile on my face every time I see them. :-) Thank you for having me here. Felix

    Chicago Is Rough.

Hello, new to fossil hunting. I have a small collection of dino teeth courtesy of ebay but I hope to dig up my own someday. Currently in the quality city of Chicago... Struggling artist going back to school to study geology and earth sciences, basically trying to fulfill a childhood dream way too late. The last ten years have been simply unproductive... Anyways, Reading some of the topics here, I feel like I can learn a lot from you guys. I post drawings on my instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thin.the.herd/ I've drawn haunted houses, demons, ghosts and monsters but I'm slowly going into a strange paleoart direction lately and I plan on making a series of unique scenes involving prehistoric animals (or things resembling prehistoric animals).

  15. Hello all, Found myself here after finding a piece of wood (a root?) eroding out of a 50-ft cliff on the beach in SoCal (usual recent beach bluff of the coastal Pacific Plate). The local Natural History Museum looked at it, gave me encouraging words (but, no, they don't do dendrology) and gave it a coat of Butvar 7.6 in an acetone carrier, and I was looking up that compound when I stumbled upon this site. This place looks like a keeper!
  16. Just arrived back from Cuba. Here are my finds. All of them need to be cleaned and restored. If anyone is interested in trade message me. This is my best find 5.8", needs some restoration.
