This was found in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana earlier this year mixed in with some rocks near the river. I am not quite sure if this is in fact a fossil or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure if some of these are shark teeth, or teeth in general. Is it possible to identify what these are? I’m particularly enthralled by the dark grey flat tooth in the top row. Found these at Calvert cliffs the other day, can you help identify if these are shark teeth and if so what species they belong to?

These fossils come from Botna Bend in IA, in the Nishnabotna River and are late Pleistocene age, can you all tell me what you think these peices are? From my tell its some kinda herbivore jaw chunk, maybe a horse hoof and this flat peice I have no idea.

Hi everyone I have recently been on a fishing trip and discovered a huge deposit of crystallised petrified crocodilians and serpents including titana boa in wales. I have the following fossils as evidence and have tried contacting the museum with no joy, really need some guidance please. I believe the first fossil is a petrified crocodilian head the second i believe is a baby or small crocodilian Have then displayed the teeth vertebrae and scutes I have found and will happily send detailed individual pics of the ones your interested in or all of them eventually, I have been collecting for days as I needed as much evidence as possible. Please let me know what you think and if you want any more close ups etc, I will post more very soon including a large jaw bone and a fair size do snake head. Thanks In advance

Hastalis (broad toothed mako/narrow white) or Plicatilis (giant white)
Rock36 posted a topic in Fossil ID
My daughter found this slightly over 2 inch tooth diving off Venice Beach, Florida in March. Boat operator and I both immediately thought it was a hastalis (broad toothed mako/narrow white). However, now that I have been reading more on great white lineage and evolution, I’m wondering if it’s perhaps a plicatilis (giant white). Or…are those two actually the same? Any help appreciated…thank you! here’s the link that got me wondering: https://www.fossilguy.com/gallery/vert/fish-shark/giant-white/index.htm -
Found this on Washington Island in Wisconsin, cracked it open and found these two similar almond shapes. Is it a fossil?

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and forum. I was just at Tybee island in Georgia and found these on the beach. I was wondering if someone can tell me if these are shark teeth. I've found some down in Venice beach in FL before but these look different. Almost as if the root broke off but the curiosity is killing me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have just received these in the post. Didn’t come identified, but wasn’t expensive and took a chance that someone on the Forum might know what Ammonites they were. Info from seller : Callovian, St Laon, Deux Sevres, France

Id help! I’m not sure if this in an animal skull or just a rock
jwestbury posted a topic in Fossil ID
I have this piece from Central Indiana (Generally the Mississippian or Tertiary/Quatemary). What I find fascinating is that it appears to be a nasal cavity. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence or something of actual interest. I took quite a few pictures some with stronger flash so you can see the difference in the different light. -
I’m new here, but have always been fascinated with rocks and fossils. My daughter is too, so I’m looking to do this as a hobby with her..but I digress. I was recently at an estate sale and picked up what I thought at first was a concretion and took it home. My close up vision is failing me, so when I put this under a big magnifying glass, I was amazed by all the details in this little 3”x3” piece. What can you tell me about all these little creatures? Any idea how old it might be? I want to share all the details with my daughter, so by all means…explain, please and thank you!

Hello all - I had put this aside as a typical Essexella asherae (jellyfish) but after cleaning, I was unsure. It doesn’t have the base and this one has much more pronounced ridges/waves than any of the other of the ones I have. There’s 2 sets of images under different lighting. Thanks in advance! Patrick

Hi, I'm brand new here. I own and operate an estate goods store in San Diego County, California. I had a gentleman bring in an interesting piece he believed to be some kind of fossil or bone, but I have absolutely 0 experience in this field. I'm hoping to, at the very least, figure out where to begin! I have attached several pictures that we took preliminarily. Any info, advice, tips, is greatly appreciated! For all I know, this could just be a cool shaped rock, (and please don't hesitate to tell me that!) but doing my due diligence in researching this piece! Thank you for your time.

Can any one help me figure out if this is actually petrified wood?
Denofbeast posted a topic in Fossil ID
This one given to me by my great grandma, who I believe found it in New Mexico years ago in one of her trips. The bottom has a smooth almost glass like texture, the top is also fairly smooth but not quiet as smooth, and the whole thing is hard as stone. It weighs 5.780 pounds and is 26 inches around and three inches any it’s tallest point. any help on this would be greatly appreciated- 7 replies
