Hi everyone! I saw these for sale listed as "Sabretooth cat upper molars from the gansu province of china", which is really cool since I've always wanted sabre cat material but I have no experience with these fossils (since they are unreasonably difficult to find/ get a hold of) so I'm hoping the forum can give a second opinion on the ID and point out any potential funny business (besides the obvious repaired break on one, which I'm okay with). Size isn't listed, but I have contacted the seller asking about that and am awaiting a response. Any insight is appreciated as always!

Found in my lawn, alone,,sitting atop a patch of grass. Snapping turtles have owned the nearby pond for decades(side note: in size & shape, their shells look like the lid of a 30 gallon trash can- they will stop & turn, take a menacing stance, and seem ready & willing to charge. I back away slowly and respectfully, in case they’ve evolved into speed runners😳). I would like to know how to assess the age of this egg. It seems like a rock- it’s heavy, wasn’t damaged in a 5’ accidental drop to concrete, and thankfully nothing tried to hatch- lol) It’s beautiful

I'm going through cataloging some old miscellaneous stuff in my collection, and came across this. It was purchased at a show c. 2003 and labeled "Shrimp" on a sticker by the dealer, with no other information. Anyone have any thoughts on what it is, where it's from, and how old it is?

Hi all, The subject of these photos may not be very interesting--I assume they are cow teeth (though do tell me if I'm wrong). But I am curious about the approximate age. I found these along the north shore of the Thames in London at low tide. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, H

I found this on the beach in NJ today. It has a lot of weight to it. Any idea how old it might be or what species this could be?

Hello! I found these shells in a Paleogene area near Khurais, Saudi Arabia and I was wondering if these species could confirm that they are truly Paleogene aged. I was also wondering why they look rusty colored. thank you for your time!

Hi hoping that someone can help me identify this tooth I found at the western- super- mare beach, Bristol, U.K. (google location (51.3379019, -2.9861150). I can see it looks like a tooth but as it was in salt water the enamel has disappeared. It is hollowed out too and has a crack at the bottom, is about 1 inch long. I would love to know what animal it came from, my thoughts are a crocodile tooth and if so can anyone tell me what species? the tide was very low so walked through a lot of muddy sand lol must of been 2 miles into the beach towards the ocean. I hope someone can identify it many thanks.

I found some sort of long-bone in the hell creek formation, but can't tell if its old or even fossilized?

Found in the hell creek formation in a tiny gully. Any help with ID would be awesome. Also generally, how does one tell if a bone is old/ not just a recently dead animal that washed into the lower strata?- 5 replies

I found this tooth on the beach in Tel-aviv, Israel. I looked up some photos and I think it may be an equus tooth. There haven’t been horses on that beach for a very long time so I’m wondering what time period it could be from. Thoughts?

Location 47.107100, -122.786562 Thurston County, Washington State, USA. Elevation approximately 70M. Found while planting a tree. Also found a 1/3rd smaller but similar specimen a dozen years ago, about a mile from the same (current) location. Same circumstances, unearthed while planting a tree. Specimen in photograph brought to surface via garden shovel, did not notice imprints until months later when rain & snow removed some of the soil that was on the surface. Clam(?) in img_5203 broke off when I tried to wash more soil from the specimen's surface. Thanks

During my fossil hunt at the local emporium, I came across this specimen. It was labeled Fossil Pig Tooth, China. What kind of pig do you think? A boar? A pig like today? Any idea on period? Pleistocene? I like teeth - but this is a new one for me!
