Although probably to water worn for a positive i.d., I think this brachiopod may be Obovothryris magnobovata which I found in some Bathonian Cornbrash Formation exposures. What id like to know if possible is the age and specie’s this Serpulid tube would be in relation to the brachiopod.

From the album: Middle Jurassic Ammonites from Southern Germany
34cm. Found many years ago at a construction site in Blumberg, B.-W. From the late Bathonian retrocostatum zone. A gift from a friend. -
I've been doing a lot of contract prep work for a particular collector for quite a while. He recently picked up some raw material bargains from an old collection and brought some of them by last week for me to clean up for him. When he came to pick them up today, he decided to gift me one of them, which just made my day, since it's an excellent specimen of a species which is hard to find these days in this size and condition. It's a Procerites hodsoni with a diameter of 34cm. which was found in the Bathonian layers at a construction site in Blumberg a few decades ago.

I'm sure this tooth is from the Hybodont Asteracanthus genus but unsure as to the species. The root is missing but would appear to be whole. I'm also not familiar with its shape. Its mid Jurassic and from the Bathonian stage. Any suggestions please @siteseer@Fossildude19

Scotland has a lot to offer including good Scotch but when it comes to dinosaurs it's close to the bottom of that scotch barrel. The attached article reviews the meager and extremely rare middle Jurassic remains that exist. The Isle of Skye is the only place that have produced these remains. http://www.mdpi.com/2076-3263/8/2/53/htm

Is this a bone of some Jurassic creature or just a funny-shaped stone?

Yesterday I decided to go looking for new exposures in the Wutachtal. I did a bit of research beforehand which helped me get my bearings in the woods, but I still ended up clambering about for a couple of hours before I finally reached the level that I was looking for. There just aren't all that many exposures in the Callovian and Bathonian in the underbrush, but I finally managed to locate a roughly beaten bridal path that led me to the Bathonian varians-Schichten and the Callovian Wutach Formation which I was looking for. The first is directly underneath the second and they are together only about 6 meters thick, so once you've found one, you've found them both. The horizons are made up of iron oolite and limestone sediments with some marl in between and they are reputed to be relatively fossiliferous. Fallen trees are a good place to look. The iron was mined at various places in the area from the Middle Ages up to the end of WW2, but all of the old mines and quarries have been refilled or built over, which is why you have to go into the hills now if you want to find anything. Light is scarce at the moment, so I only had a few hours to do some exploratory digs, but I did get off to a relatively good start, having found a few fossils, some of which I've prepared today and am showing here. I'm planning to head out there again tomorrow to do some more intensive exploring. Macrocephalites jacquoti. 6.5cm. Procerites sp. 6cm. Procerites sp. 10cm.

Hi, I would like to show you some plants that I found in the (middle probably) Bathonian of the soutwestern France, near the edge of the "Massif Central". So, I will describe the context of the find quicly : We can find some vegetals in micritic layers intercalated in sublitographic-limestone layers, very often they're fragments of lignitized wood (sometimes with a wonderful conservation and visible tracheids) but it can be reddish wood not lignitized or fragments of leaves. The first mention that I found is Monteil (1977) who indicates the discovery in a neighboring township of two leaf imprints of Otozamites sp. But this source isn't necessarily the most reliable because there are many inaccuracies or errors, but this is the only mention found this period and this area. So, for my own samples, this would be a flora from "wetlands", unusual for the french Jurassic (I believe that only one was found but a little younger, from the upper Oxfordian) and, more interesting, one (at least) of them was supposed to be Sagenopteris sp., a species of Caytoniales ("seed ferns"), never found in France. So here are the leaf imprints (or leaves) of some samples (normally the scales are correct but it is possible that I made a mistake). If someone has an identification idea or a suggestion I would be very grateful to him. 1a : Fern ? 1b 2 Fern with sporangia 3 ? 4 Fern with sporangia 5 Fern with sporangia 6 7 8 9 Fern with sporangia ? 10 Fern with sporangium 11 12 13 14 Fern ? 15
