These are some bits of coral and a shark tooth I found on the beach at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, this morning. Obviously there's not much geologic context, so I don't expect much, but can anyone tell me more specifically what they are? Or how old they are (are they even actually fossils?)? The scale bar in the shark tooth photo is about a centimeter.

Hi All! I am a newbie & amateur, making my very first post. I picked this up whilst searching for sharks teeth along the beach. I am a very curious being and this is just a mystery to me. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks again!!!

Hi all! I had a thought recently while I was reading about a specimen of Arambourgiania that had been found in the Coon Creek formation. I was thinking that (I have no idea if anyone had thought of this before), much like modern shore birds, maybe these animals were 'beachcombers', basically wandering beaches in search of carrion and small prey such as fish, crustaceans, and large mollusks. Maybe they could use their long beaks to catch clams and other burrowing animals? Let me know what you all think of this idea!

My 9 old and I are headed to the Outer Banks for adventuring and he really wants to find shark teeth. Anyone willing to share some beaches? We'll only be there a few days, so I'd rather not waste time beach combing every beach. Lol We're staying in Kill Devil Hills, NC.

Hi guys! I just found this shark tooth on the beach in Duck OBX. My husband thinks it’s a shell but I really think it’s a shark tooth. Tell me what you think!

Hello! I stumbled upon this peculiar item while searching the beaches today (ok, it’s not as exciting as I just made it sound) and I’m wondering if this is a fossil or something dried within that I’m not able to identify. I can provide more photos, but a suggestion would be appreciated. Please help and thank you for reading!

Found this fossilized structure. Not sure what it is from. Bf says it’s from shark tooth and I say it’s not…it looks pointy from one side like a vertebrae.

Hi found this vertabra on a beach near Los Angeles. Even though it is not a fossil I was wondering if anyone can ID it for me, I was thinking dolphin or porpoise but I’m not 100% sure. Thanks

Hello, I found this fossilized bone on the beach on Tybee Island, GA while looking for shark teeth. It looks like a tiny alligator or snake head but I'm guessing it's not. Any help to ID would be greatly appreciated! The first pic is the top of it, second is it flipped over. Thank you for any help!

I would really appreciate any help identifying this (possible) fossil. My son found this blackened subject while he was digging on the beach of Texel, The Netherlands. It’s approximately 70mm long and looks fragmented, heavily eroded and feels solid. There’s a small hole in the top middle (approximately 3mm). Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi all, Would be really grateful if anybody could help identify this fossil. The piece was found in South East England. Unfortunately the provenance is a bit murky but I believe it was claimed to have been found on a beach. Attached a series of (compressed sized) pictures showing the specimen from several angles with international scale

I found a bone fossil in Cancun at the hotel zone beach, after removing the limestone enclosing the bone. Could anyone help me identify which species this fossil is? Thanks!

Found these on a beach of a bay in Sussex county Delaware from Spring 2022 to present. 6 specimens total. #1 was super hard to photograph, did my best. #5 thought it would be easy to ID, was surprised to find a shell like that in the bay, but maybe it's from a decoration??? #6 thought maybe it was metal or part of something man-made, but feels like maybe? it's petrified. I'm purely an amateur, so just speculation. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I found these on the beach in The Netherlands. I would appreciate if someone would tell me if they are fossils or just rocks and what they are, if fossils. In the case of the sand dollars, I don't know if they are skeletons or fossils. They are hard and I can't break them. Thank you so much!

I started collecting shells at the beach..then noticed fossils. I recently found this.Is it even a fossil? I thought it strange because similar markings on each side. It is about the size of a quarter. Thanks for any help.

Hi I found this yesterday on the beach in Sidmouth, East Devon, UK It was nestled in the rocks and part of a longer specimen- I was intrigued so was feeling around it and all the sand around it was loose (tide coming in, rock pools) and this middle section just popped free! I didn't have any equipment and wouldn't know what to do anyway so I brought it home rather than leave it as it would have been lost to the sea! There are others around, visibly. I am not even sure that this is fossil vertebrae but wondered what you guys think as I have seen similar photos online before. It's a shame I couldn't extract the rest but it's all still there, firmly attached to the rock. Any thoughts? There is also a mini fossil (wood louse type shape) on one end. I have no knowledge whatsoever although I love fossils and have collected some over the years in the somewhat drier region of Provence, France! Initial photos on the beach, wet. The others on 5mm squared paper at home. I haven't cleaned it up yet...
