The ancestors of these trees are almost never found south of the equator, until now. https://m.phys.org/news/2019-06-argentine-fossils-oak-beech-family.html -
Hello - Would appreciate any help in identifying this item. I was recently on vacation (last week) in St. Coix USVI and on a untouched rocky beach found this at the waters edge. Locaion Here Shape makes me think it is possibly a tooth... but due to location I am not sure what it could be (possibly a Whale?) and or if it is just a piece of coral from local reefs. Please let me know if any more information/ pictures would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your help.
