Found this large bone in recycling bin. I have no idea what it came from. Approx 14"L x 5.75" diameter at mid bone x 13"at ends. I'd love your feedback. Thx!

A kinda interesting combination out of an ammonite, a belemnite and a partial Ichtyosaur rib. It wasn't very difficult to prep but all in all it took about 3 hours. The belemnite is about 10 cm long and the partial rib is about 11 cm long. I found this one last year in the quarry Kromer near Holzmaden. Some more pictures: And the unprepped rib: -
What kind of fossil is this. I got it in one of those fossil grab bags. It has many lines running through the top and two “layers” sort of.

Hello all, I found this piece of bone on IRB, Florida and it's about 1/2" x 1/2". I know it's pretty small to ID but it has some distinctive marks on it. My initial guess was a juvenile horse tooth frag, but than I saw pics of sloth that had similarities. I have photos of 6 different views. The photos are not as sharp as I would like, but the best I can get. Can you ID it? Thanks so much!

Good morning, I found this piece in the Neuse River in Craven County NC. On the same trip I found a piece of tusk that has 90 degree Schreger Lines (thank you very much for help in identifying the piece) making it diagnostically Mammoth. I just cleaned up this piece and am confused about the status of petrified wood/ nice rock/ or bone. The texture seems to be similar to some fossilized bones in my collection. That being said, the internal structure has a “core” that appears to be similar to the tight tree rings seen in early growth. I will post more pictures in comments. Thank you

Hi guys- a friend of mine has asked me to take her out fossiling around her local area next week she wants to ideally find some fossil bone- I don’t know oxford that well and the quarry’s I do know of require access or are SSSI and difficult to collect from. does anyone have any suggestions? Off course Ill guarantee a report and pictures of fossils if we find anything!! Happy hunting guys!

Good morning, i found this this item while walking the beach near the old Boy Scout Hut at Cherry Point located near the Navy Boat Docks just past the Grants Landing housing area. This area is known to produce fossilized sharks teeth and other fossilized bones. I believe it is a bone but the shape is confusing. Can anyone help me identify the bone such as where it is found on a skeleton and possibly what type of animal? I had it posted in a facebook group but haven’t had any comments posted. Thank you

Found on Myrtle Beach. I've been picking up a lot of bone that is quite obvious to me in its look and texture, but this is a strange piece and I'm not convinced it's bone at all. The only reason I haven't given up on it is because it has two colors - the outside is black, the inside is brownish. Thoughts?

Hey there I was prepping a plate of Baculites when I noticed what looking like a bone. At the time int was hidden under a crust of calcite. After removing the calcite I now need to gather ideas on what kind of bone this maybe. So, I am looking for some ID help.

I had picked up a box full of Lance formation matrix bits a little while ago. This evening while in the garage I couldn't fight the urge to poke around a bit at a couple of pieces. I probably should only focus at one at a time....but temptation. I didn't really mess will the champsosaurus vertibrea in the matrix. I broke out the dental picks and started to play with these chunks. I didn't stay out there long because it doesn't have heat but there are some interesting things that are exposed. Hopefully I can get a spot in the basement set up so I can get deeper into this. I don't know I this fits better in the fossil hunting section or the fossil preparation section.

Hi, recently I was looking for a Mammoths tooth to add to my collection. I did manage to get nice tooth but as it happens I did bring home this bone with it It's a Mammoths leg bone from Hungary. Is it possible to identify exactly which bone is it? Bone is still in my workshop and I am not sure if I should make a stand for it and add it to my collection, need opinion from someone experienced. Is it a nice sample or is it fairly common? What about condition? Should I get better one and part with this one? What do you think?

Closeup of mosasaur bone. This specimen has mineralized in such a way that the crystals form in planes, so that they reflect light at a given angle creating a glassy flash. This phenomenon is not captured in the photo. -
Found this skull bone piece in a sand dune by the beach, I think it might be some sort of fish or hopefully a reptile. Found in southern Africa.

Here is a find that I have been wondering about, it's about 7". First glance it looks like a average rib bone. Thing is I have a lots rib bones but nothing like this. First interesting thing is the weight, it's heavy, at least twice as heavy as the average STH bone. Second it's not fragile, I dropped it on the tile ( by accident) and it bounced. Third is that it is very dense by the outer edges and is hollow in the middle. Any ideas? Thanks
