Can anyone say what the carboniferous plant in the lower left corner is? The vein preservation is poor, but is this maybe Mariopteris? Found at Cory's Lane, Rhode Island

With winter in New England fast approaching, I decided to spend the afternoon at Cory's Lane in Rhode Island. I found a number of Pennsylvanian aged plant imprints, but one plate of Neuropteris imprints has me stumped. This plate has a mystery object in it (A mystery to me at least). The long imprint going down the middle of this plate looks like an imprint of a stick, but I had thought sticks didn't preserve well in the Rhode Island Formation. Can anyone id the large, straight shaped imprint? Thanks!

Me and my family might be wanting to take a trip to Cory's Lane but they want to know what the actual site is like i.e. is it family friendly, what's the parking like, what the actual beach is like, etc. Any information on where to collect would be useful as well. Thanks in advance.

Hey All, I just wanted to give a brief overview of my fossil trip to Cory's Lane, RI. The driving directions were very easy and straightforward. I drove right down to the where folks put there boats into the ocean and began walking southward along the shoreline. I didn't see much for shale but eventually recognized the bedrock below the added granite rock ocean breakers. Once there I saw plenty of signs of recent fossil hunting and even picked up a fern fossil left by someone before me. Looking through their spoil heap I finished what they started and found a few more small ferns. Heading further South about 4/10th of a mile the shale bedrock became higher, about 5 meters, and there I found larger better ferns and calamities. Best, MRA
