I purchased this with the misidentification of an unknown coral with no listed location. I've received an identification from a local museum of a fish dental plate from the Kem Kem beds in Morocco and was wondering if anyone here knew of a way to identify the genus of the fish.

Hi Everyone, I am completely new to identification, but I found this large tooth while walking along a creek today in the northern part of Estill County, Kentucky and I am hoping someone might be able to help me identify it.

Hi, just joined the forum after browsing some very informative posts. My wife and I found the items pictured on the beach on Oahu, Hawaii. They appear to resemble others' pictures of porcupinefish dental plates. I have found info on similar finds from the Philippines, Australia, and Florida, but nothing from Hawaii. What we are mainly wondering is whether these are fossilized or just hard due to being made of tooth material (we have not found any still attached to a jawbone). Sorry about no coin in the photo for scale, the largest specimen is about 1 inch or 2.5 cm. As we say in Hawaii, Mahalo for any insights!

To save money I do my own dental work. Ive had some tooth aches lately so I took some pliers and started pulling. I do love steaks and roasts, but I will have to start eating apple sauce and jello! Actually these have been sittin on my desk for quite awhile collecting dust. Enjoy. RB

Anybody used a Prep start Air abrasion unit for cleaning fossils, was looking to purchase one for my home workshop and was wondering if any of these dental units are useful for prepping fossils? Mainly the Prep start though as this is one i have an option to buy. If any one has a video of one in action that would be brilliant, or images of work they have done with one, that would be most useful. Cheers Dan
