This came out of a road cut on IH-10 near Kerrville, Texas. From a thick marl bed that I think is the Walnut just above the Glen Rose Fm. -
Bottom is from the Upper left of the first image. These were found at an outcrop of the Upper Glen Rose just south of Comfort, Texas -
Found south of Pipe Creek, Texas, and north of Medina Lake. -
Top L-R: Upper Glen Rose Fm, Borracho Fm Middle: Eagle Ford Fm Bottom L-R: Comanche Peak Fm (Pecos County) (?), Upper Glen Rose Fm (?) -
Hello! this is one of my weirdest things I have found at this location, I believe it might be a fragment from a fin spine? A piece from an Echinoid? Something else? I would love to know what it is and what species this came from! Some information on the area: Location: Missouri Time period: Pennsylvanian Formation: Most likely from a member of the Iola Limestone What makes this one of the most bizarre fossils I have found is the circular pattern on the fossil itself, as I have not seen anything like this in the area before. backside Pictures in their natural file size: https://imgur.com/a/qUWY0gB

2020 - a year in review - part two - my best finds of the year - Echinoids

Initially, this summer we had planned to spend a week in the eastern part of France, but despite there was no official lockdown at the time and since the area had been badly strike by the pandemy, we decided to postpone that trip. Instead we organised a 4 days trip along the cliffs of Normandy. The first day we aimed to "Cap de La Hève " near Le Havre. The rocks are from the cenomanian We didnt find that much, but all in all we still managed to grab a few nice echinoids and brachiopods. Some samples of the very small Discoides subuculus (1 cm for the biggest) : A totally sweet Tetragramma variolare : A complete Cidaris was also found on this day but i dont have a picture. On day two we headed a bit further north/east: Saint Jouin de Bruneval, still cenomanian cliffs. On that day we just did great A sweet echinoids association Conulus castanea and Tetragramma variolare The small echinoid Cottaldia benettiae (1cm ) A fair amount of Crassiholaster subglobosus We also found some Holaster sp and also more Discoides subuculus.
