I was last summer on Berlin and photographed some fossils from Museum für Naturkunde. One was labeled as "Bibio angulatus". But now I see that absolutely none result appear in Google searching this name, so I suppose that is an error. Somebody knows the real name of this piece on exhibit?

How could this possibly happen??? How would they eyes be so dark while the rest is barely visible? And not just that, how are the eyes just the silhouettes, and not solid? It's not like they were made of anything different, or different in any other way. They couldn't be have been fossilized in different ways. is this possibly genuine??? I totally trust this persons other stuff, this one just seems so impossible to me.

A guy at the gem and fossil show had a bunch of these for sale. Looks like only a painting to me and no fossil at all. Am I correct is it all just drawn on or is there any fossil there.

Dear Fossil Forum I'm just getting started and trying to get up to speed with my own specimens. I have two poor quality pictures of insects, looking for some help with identification. One is a bi map file of a white spider and one is of a small fly. These specimens are in Baltic amber from Latvia. Please help, any comments would be appreciated! Jimmy
