    Unidentified fossil bone

I would like to have some help to identify this fossil. I know that it is fossilized, and I am pretty sure that it is a mammal femur, but I would like to find out what mammal and if it is for sure a femur. It was found in Northeast Oklahoma, and I am adding as many pics as I can with scale. So thanks for all the help that you can give.

Fish in Rock like a Geode

Sorry, another fossil from my dead acquaintance's estate. This is an interesting fish in a geode-like rock. Open it up and you can see the top and the bottom of the fish's image. The person who split open the rock did an excellent job. The seam is sharp and tight. To get to the fish inside: It is about 10½ millimeters centimeters long and 4¾ mm wide/tall at its widest point. I did just a little bit of magic in this picture to heighten the image. I made it a little bit darker and heightened contrast just a little. The rock from the outside looks like a sweet potato. In fact, the inside of the rock has a reddish, sweet-potato coloring though where the ghost image of the fish is, it is grayish brown. I don't know where this fish was found. A nice fish, well-preserved by my eye.

    Clay.

So I see that some people stand their teeth upright by attaching some sort of clay to hold it and prevent it from falling over. I just want to know what kind of clay would be best for that. Thanks.

    Fossil?

Hiya! Wentout today to look out for fossils for the first time. Stumbled upon what seems to look like some type of vertebra on a river bank? Not entirely sure if it's a fossil at all, since there were lots of deer bone fragments in the vicinity too. Looks to be a little older though?

    Hello From Alberta

Hello, everyone. I am new to this site, and like everyone here I am fascinated with anything old that comes from the ground. I have discovered a location of the banks of the river that has more bones than I know what to do with, I dont know how old, what it is (mammoth, dinosaur, deer?) but, they are petrified, heavy and lots of some crystal formations. Any help in identification would be helpful. I can go to this spot and carry out 60-100 pounds of bone every visit. Well maybe not now as the ground is covered in snow lol. Please, please see my other posts.

    A Possible Fossil?

Hi guys! I found this in Morava river...Idk what can this be,so any kind of help will be good! It doesn't look normal for some ordinary rock so i hope that i've found a Fossil! Thanks
  11. Hi, guys, fossils from Madagascar again. Recently I found out that lots of rocks claimed to be dinosaur bone fossils are imported from Madagascar to China and they are polished to make ash trays or other utensils. To me, this destroys the scientific value of the fossils. I have attached photos of some of the unpolished fossils. Are they really dinosaur bones? By the way, I love this forum, and you guys are really helpful and have a lot of expertise.

    Fossil found in garden

So i was just putting up my parents outdoor Christmas lights and this caught my eye. It was among a mixture of stones and pebbles that were bought in bulk, so i have no idea where they are from. I'm guessing it's coral or crinoids? We're from england if that helps but they could really have been from anywhere.
  21. one of which is Grand Staircase-Escalante. my question is whether or not this will affect fossil hunting regulations that prevent the average citizen from fossil hunting on these lands? https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-shrinks-2-national-monuments-in-utah

    Bone fragments

Hi guys! I've been wondering for awhile if there's any possible way to ID some of the bone fragments that I have. Obviously some of them are just long flat fragments, but some of them seem to have identifying features or sockets/ joints. I know these pictures aren't the best, but if you have any thoughts on any of them please let me know. If you want more in-depth pictures of any of them I'd be happy to post them!
