Best spots other than Horseshoe and Horsethief to find fossils near Drumheller?
DaylinCoop posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
I am in drumheller and visited horseshoe canyon yesterday and found some cool surface fossils but today want to visit a new spot to look for some teeth. Any suggestions as Horsethief is a bit steep and will be done next time. I’ve heard east coulee is good but not sure where? Any suggestions would be great before we head back to Edmonton.- 1 reply

First piece I suspect is frill and it’s about 2-2.5 inches long. Second is what I think is a toe bone and is 1.5-2 inches long. Thanks! Found in horse shoe canyon Alberta.- 19 replies

Help ID Please. Cretaceous Bone With Big Hole Through It. Found in Alberta Badlands Near Red Deer River.
Backcountryhiker posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hello Everyone I recently came across three interesting bone fragments while hiking near the Red Deer River North of Drumheller ( Alberta, Canada). The one bone fragment has a perfectly round symmetrical hole right through it, & the second & third fragment appears to have little pock marks or indentations on it (reminds me a bit of the whisker pocks a dog has on its face) . Anyways I am just a hobbyist however the fragments with the pocked marks I'm going to guess is part of the jaw or maybe somewhere near the mouth? Any help to help ID or any additional information of any kind would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance! Have great weekend.- 2 replies

Hey! Both of these teeth were found in the horseshoe canyon in the same place. I was thinking Albertosaurus but I don't know(They are serrated if you couldn't tell from the photos). Any ideas? (sorry for the low quality images)

Hi all, I just got this tooth from Tolman Bridge area of Alberta. That area falls within Edmonton Group supposedly. I believe it's a hadrosaur maxillary tooth. Any idea what kinda hadrosaur it could be? Thank you for your help.
