New to the group, so wanted to say hello. I'm looking for some help on this fish fossil. At first I thought for sure it was enchodus but in comparing it with one that I have it seems to have a much larger body unfortunately no head was found on this one. I realize that one could be juvenile vs an adult with that being said these jaws if it is from this species are also different and larger then enchodus head that I have. Both or all were found within the same geologic area of each other along with mosasaurus vertebras. The jaw sections (8" and 6") in picture could be part of this species as they were found at the same location just not at the same SITE. Measurements: spine 24" long end of tail fin 16". Thank ED

Hi, I found this on the bottom of a slab on a dry river bed whilst walking in the Yorkshire dales yesterday. Can anyone help identify if it is a fossil and if it’s if any interest? The slab is quite big, perhaps about 1 metre or abit less.

Hopefully I am doing this correctly. My 7 year old grandson has developed an interest in fossils. I bought him the National Geographic fossil collection for Christmas. We worked together in removing them from the block and trying to identify them. When we finished trying to identify the fossils we had 3 we couldn't identify, we had identified all the ones the in book, so I am assuming we have misidentified some. Hopefully someone can identify these and we can we look in the book. Thanks Gary and Charlie
