I found it yesterday, comes from the Coleraine formation of northern Minnesota. Im not sure if it’s a fossil like maybe a burrow, possibly a bone, or just a plain concretion (the concretions here often take on weird shapes).

I found this tooth at El Capitán Beach on the coast by Santa Barbara in the mid 90’s. Any idea who lost their tooth? I’ve wondered what animal this tooth belonged to. Can anyone help me identify it?

Hi, I found this fossil in our basement and I remember that we were told as kids that it’s a mammoth tooth but now I don’t think so. It was found in Belgium I believe.

I just need help confirming that this is a potential legit find. Found it Northern California mountains where I have found arrowheads and Indian artifacts.

Would love some help on identifying what's in this rock. Total newbie here and found this site after doing an internet search. I found this rock that was left in the garden by the previous home owners. Not sure where it's from, but we are in Missouri so could be from this area. This looked similar to pictures I found on the web of crinoid stems, but these seemed smoother. Anyone know if this is a fossil or just some neat rock formation? Also, any tips on cleaning/preserving? I sprayed it down with the hose to get off the loose dirt. Thanks for all your help.

I don’t need anything specific, just the category it falls under. Is it coral, bone, etc. It is very small, about 1/2 x 2/3 x 1/4 (inches).

Hi, My niece found this fossil (?) in Paris, Kentucky on 2/4/24. Looks like coral but I would very much appreciate help with the identification. I searched online but I’m not exactly sure where to look. Would love to know what it is!! Thanks, CAGANNON

(First of all, I have almost no information about the location in which this specimen was found. Sorry in advance) I've had this for years, a family member found it on a trip, and gave it to me when I was about 9-10, but it was so long ago that I cannot remember where they found it, all I remember is that it was in some gravel on the side of a river. And I know it was found in either Zimbabwe or Botswana. Not much to go on I'm afraid. Could it be a fossilized bone? P.S. Please excuse the quality of the pics, I'm still learning how to take good ones.

I have this fish in my collection . I've got it for Christmas , but sadly without a lable . The surrounding matrix is shale if this helps. I dont know where it was found or how old it is which makes identifying it much harder than usual . But maybe some of you guys know ?

Hello! I'm new to this site so I don't really know how it works, but a while ago I found this rock? Fossil? Idk. In a creek bed. I'm located in Missouri near the KC area if that helps. It's about 5 inches long, 5 and a half in the middle circumference.

Hello! I am stumped trying to Identify this piece my neighbor gave me. I'm a genetic molecular scientist....not a lot of geology experience! Thought it could be texas holey rock, but there is quite a bit of color. Possibly limestone, but again, the color?! Maybe coral, but I'm not finding any definitive shapes that resemble coral. The majority of the piece has tiny holes. One side of it doesn't have any at all. Any and all ideas are appreciated!
