Thanks a lot to Kris Howe (ptychodus64) for supporting me

Yesterday I was invited from the "Geologengruppe Ostalb e.v." (Geo-Gruppe Ostalb e.V. (geo-ostalb.de)) to give a lesson about the fantastic Green River Formation. We visited the fossil butte monument some years ago and had the opportunity to dig there a day with our friend Adam Lindgren. As I had a lot of great pics from the fossils and landscape, but not from perfect prep, Kris Howe (@ptychodus64) supported me with pics from the preparation of his fantastic Annaeavis. Thanks, Kris, the pics impressed the visitors, was a great evening! Impression of the Museum (Limesmuseum Aalen) Group leader and former director, Ulrich Sauerborn, and the author Green River! Some impressed visitors some pics from his prep, I am always impressed about this fantastic work! (sorry for the not-perfect pics, baaaaad light) thanks -
I think the answer to what inspired this concretion became obvious in the photo that I included for context. I figured it might make a good example if this checks out. The crinoid columnal mold at its very edge indicates that the shapes were most likely more pieces of crinoid that left only ghosts ?

A couple of months ago I was asked by Violet's teacher if I could do a presentation on fossils. In the uk a basic lesson on palaeontology is a part of the school curriculum. I took a range of fossils, both in type and era. Of course anything dinosaur was the most popular, in particular teeth. The kids were really interested and when it came to question time everyone's hands were raised. I was really surprised how much knowledge these 7 and 8 year olds had. Sadly time ran out too soon but I've been asked to return later in the year. I'm REALLY looking forward to going back. A couple of days later I was asked by Mrs Hayes, the teacher, to pop in and see her for 5 minutes. All the kids were there and I was presented with a lovely card, a box of chocolates (most of which Violet ate when we got home!) and a superb fossil they had made me which now resides in my collection. I wasn't allowed to take photographs of the day because of child protection but it was documented by a child with a digital camera. Dear Violet's Dad was written by Violet!

As many of you are aware, Singapore is a country that does not yield fossil sites, nor do we have a strong geological heritage or much government/state support. However, that should not prevent our youth from learning about the rich culture and wonders of fossils, Earth's ancient history or paleontology! Our group of fossil-collectors recently partnered with a well-known school, National Junior College and held a lecture for a group of 80 high school students' science day. We started off with short video showing scenes from Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure. Seeing a mosasaur chomp up a shark sure got the students' attention! The lecture organizer Calvin leads the talk. Seeing the looks of amazement on the children's faces make this all worthwhile!
