Hi! I found this by the potomac river, maryland! Was wondering if this could be a fragment of something or just a cool rock with some layers! Thank you.

Hello to all ! I've never been on a forum before so please excuse any ignorance of protocol, thanks in advance. I was recommended this from Rock Seekers because I have been interested in both rocks and fossils for most of my life. I'm a 64 year old retired RN that grew up living all over the place. My father was career military and also a Master Naturalist for the state of Mississippi, so we got to dig for stuff all over the world. Very lucky for me ! Fortunately, I get to go out west every year and dig in Wyoming, Idaho, South Dakota and Montana with my brother. I've attached a few pictures of some of my stuff, just finished moving so it's not all unpacked yet. Thanks for allowing me to join, I look forward to being on frequently. Just observing both shark teeth side by side. The heterodontus teeth have rounder cusps and a textured enamel near the root, similar to what you see on top of their crushing teeth.

Last weekend, I went down to Calvert Cliffs state Park in Maryland to go fossil hunting for a bit. While looking through my finds, I noticed that this bone seemed to be mostly intact, and wondered if it could be a bone from the flipper of some kind of dolphin? Maybe one of these bones? Thanks for any answers, and sorry for the bad quality photos.

Hey everyone, A few days ago I finally got back out to Bayfront Park. According to the local forecast, it was going to be a cloudy day, but there was enough space in the sky during the sunrise for the sun to peek through and create a marvelous display of colors. I always love the scenery at Brownies, and that day was especially beautiful. The tide was relatively low when I arrived, but since I got there just after peak low tide, the water was rising for the entire time I was there, and it rose much faster than I would've liked. I didn't find any big teeth, but overall still had a great day collecting. I hope you enjoy my YouTube video of the hunt, embedded below. If you haven't already done so, please subscribe to my channel, leave a like on the video, and drop a comment as well to let me know what you thought! Thanks for the support! With the weather starting to finally warm up, I will hopefully be able to get out more frequently. Hoping for some low tides. Hoppe hunting!

Hello! I’m from southeast Michigan but I’ve also collected in OH, PA, NJ, MD, and VA on a handful of trips. Another of which I’m going on in a week, down to NJ and MD with lots of stops in PA, back to a few spots I’ve been before, with some new ones along the way. I’m currently in my third year as a dual environmental science and geology undergrad, and hoping to go further in my education towards paleontology. I’m not currently in any of my local clubs, I do plan to join some after my trip, but I am a member of the AIPG chapter at my university. I’m looking forward to meeting new people with a similar passion and I will appreciate the help with identification. And if there’s any fellow local fossil hunters give me a shout.
