It took a long time to find my first comco blaster, and it's been a couple years since, but I finally found another auction, 2 in fact. I wanted 1 more for a second prep station, but I couldn't pass up a good deal. So now I need to open them up, clean, and replace anything worn out. Glad I already learned how to overhaul these from my first blaster. I plan on selling one of these after I'm sure it's in good working order.

The main fossils I am working on are Trilobites and Echinoderms. Here is the 3 best units I have looked at so far: Crystal Mark: Swamblaster MV-2 Comco: Microblaster Comco: Accuflo Any Other Quality Micro Blasting Unit suggestion? Anyone out there using one of those unit and who can tell me how it goes? Thank you to all preparation experts for your time! Bobby

I promised a report on the microblaster I purchased from Eons Ago(eBay). I received the unit and the cover plate which is also the lid was broken and Fed Ex had bounced it around, I contacted the seller and he suggested either a replacement unit or sending me a template for the glass with a $200 refund. I chose the second option. I received the template and the refund which I used to build my manifold. The glass cost $11.50 so I had them cut three in case of breakage or pitting. Got the manifold together and the unit up and running. Initial observations:1) the cuffs installed in the arm holes are for very small hands. 2)the vacuum(when using a shop vac) when you have your hands through the cuffs does not get enough air flow to efficiently remove the dust. My solution was to blast using one hand leaving the other cuff open for air flow. Thinking of removing the cuffs altogether. Did not get much time trying it out Cleaned one trilobite from Penn-Dixie before the wife reminded me to take before and after photos, Then said to shut down and come eat Dinner. I will post photos soon and a report on if my fixes worked and how well it operates.
