I went to a museum that sells fossils in there gift shop and bought this mosasaur tooth. I then looked up what species it could be on the Fossil Forum. There was a page on mosasaur species I’d for teeth that I read and I saw the tooth I have looks remarkably similar to the description to the Moroccan tylosaur. Could this tooth I have be an example of that description?

Hello. Good morning to all my friends from my favorite super forum! Yesterday I had to break my little piggy bank and from this piggy bank I was able to get my last US $29,99 to get this little gem of nature. I know TFF does not allow valuations, but only what I would like to ask is whether it is real? And whether it was a good purchase? It is a fish of the species Triplomystus sp. The seller's description: This fish is found in sublithographic limestone similar to that seen in Lebanese Lagerstatte (where the genus Triplomystus is also found. Fish from this Moroccan have become available only in recent years, and many may be new to science. The fish is known as Triplomystus, a member of the Paraclupeidae family that were described from Lebanon. Class Actinopterygii, Order Ellemmichthyformes, Family Paraclupeidae Geological Time: Late Cretaceous Size: Fish fossil is 4,7 cm Fossil Site: Ramlia Taouz, Morocco All opinions are welcome! A Spinosaur and a Carcharodontosaur walk into a bar . . . . . . I don’t have large numbers of dinosaur teeth, and most of the teeth I have are from Morocco. I have a couple from Montana and two or three I found in North Carolina, but my dino knowledge is limited. I haven’t bought any Moroccan dinosaur teeth for several years. I was pretty satisfied with the specimens I already had. This year at the Tucson show I found one interesting enough to buy. I think it is a Spinosaur tooth but the shape is not what I am used to seeing. Even though I don’t own a lot of dinosaur teeth I have seen many thousands over the years and Spino teeth don’t seem to have a lot of variation in shape. This one is flattened but not crushed to any degree. This tooth has an atypical shape. It looks sort of like a cross between a Spinosaur and a Carcharodontosaur. I am not in any way suggesting it is from a hybrid animal, just describing the shape of the tooth. It is possible that it is just a pathological tooth, or maybe it is a type that I have not seen before. I have included pics of two “regular” Spino teeth from my collection. Any input would be appreciated.

Can this tooth be classified as an Undetermined Abellisauridae, or only Theropoda Undetermined? ============================================= ============================================= Fossil No. 02 - ZARAFASAURUS TOOTH FOSSIL Is this fossil tooth Real? I know this is not from Kem Kem, but I do not know if it has already been described scientifically ... How should I label this in my collection? ============================================= ============================================= Fossil No. 03 - ONCHOPRISTIS TOOTH FOSSIL I also do not know if it has already been described scientifically ... Wasn't 100% certain where to put this, so I figured Q&A was as good a place as any. Does anyone here have access to legit Moroccan trilobite material? Specifically unprepped? Ironically enough, I would actually be more interested in incomplete bugs than guaranteed complete ones. I have never prepped any material from Morocco and would really like to take a crack at it. In a perfect world, someone out there has a source and imports flats of quality material and happens to have a pile of "discards" laying around that they would consider parting with on the cheap. I'm on a budget as I'm trying to upgrade equipment, AGAIN! For reasons that are likely obvious to anyone who is into trilobites, I am super interested in getting my hands on some of the gnarly, spiny species out there. But simply purchasing a display piece lacks the romance of having cried over breaking off spines accidentally during prep! I would do unspeakable things for a Walliserops or Comura cephalon, (or something like that.) Alternatively, I would also be interested in similar bits from Black Cat like Dicranurus. Thanks in advance guys! I know it's a tall order, but it can't ever hurt to ask, right?

Hello! Good morning to all my friends from my favorite forum ! Unfortunately my English is not very good, but I would like some help, please, for this fossilized tooth. I know there is no publication of any fossilized skull, and unfortunately it is rare to find publications on the fossils of Moroccan teeth ... But I believe this tooth does not fit with a Carcharodontosaurus. By the morphological characteristics, it fits more with a Dromaeosauridae family. What do you think? Hugs to all! -
So, I haven't gotten a chance to ask about this weird tooth I got in Tucson. The root is there, and in good shape, but I don't think there is any way I can get it out of the matrix. The matrix is solid stone with the hardness of concrete, and I would probably break my tools on it. Youll have to ignore the cat in the background continued

Hello there (new member here) I'm needing some help ID'ing this strange fossil. I went to a city wide Gem and Mineral show today and happened to run across a bin filled with dig tailings from ether Morocco, or Egypt. Not sure as to where actually they are from but Spinosaurus teeth fragments were found in the same bin along with Sawtooth and unknown croc sp. fragments. I did inquire as to what it was and where they were from but I was told they were just trash and I could take it or leave it. This fossil is very knobby about halfway down, reminds me of Gila Monster beads. It is broken in half and the inside is hollow. The rounded side is thicker than the knobby side and has holes for something like Blood vessels. Measurements are 4 1/2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide. Thickest part at the rounded tip on the inside is 3/4 inch thick. If you need any further details let me know. I apologize now for the sub-par photos, my camera is VERY old and the focus on it is broken. But I think the photos i have should help in ID'ing what ever this strange thing is. This is a shark tooth someone gave me, it said it was from morocco but that was it. I cant really tell what species it is due to the cusps.

Hello Everyone, I've decided to start this thread after originally creating this thread. The thread goes into discussion on the idea of a "fake" Mosasaur Jaw from Morocco. The discussion concluded that the Jaw itself is fake but the teeth are real. However, many people (including experts selling the fossil and previous buyers) didn't know that the vast majority of the fossils found like that Jaw were in fact mostly fake. They are often marked down as Composits which the sellers believing them to be made up from parts of a Mosasaur and the reset into a new matrix. This is wrong as the vast majority are made from 'goat bones' and 'dust' and glued together. As it turns out Morocco is a popular place for fossils but locals have found ways to increase the price of cheaper end fossils to sell for higher amounts, this is not limited to Mosasaurs and goes for all fossils found in Morocco. For example with the Jaws they often don't even use good teeth and mostly pick the cheapest broken teeth that have 1 good side. Hi, I have this "Raptor" tooth from Morocco and it says its Deltadromeus, but I know it's not that because no skeletal material has yet been found. And I'm just wondering if it is from some kind of raptor. I know that there hasn't been any raptor skeletal material found in Morocco, just teeth. Based on the pictures, does the tooth look Dromaeosaurid? Is it still from a raptor? I can post more pictures if needed. Thanks

I bought one of those Agadir ammonites today and from what I've red most of these specimens are unidentifiable because they lost their suture lines due to the chiselling job. The one I bought still had its suture lines intact despite the preparation done on it. What genus are these usually? I've had mantelliceras and olcostephanus as possibilities.
