Hi folks First post - absolute newbie to the subject, so please go easy on me (especially as what I propose doing may well be seen as vandalism by some!). I have a dinosaur obsessed partner (Velociraptors in particular) and I'd like to get her a unique gift. So I was thinking of purchasing as nice a tooth or claw as I can get my hands on and somehow attach it to a necklace. I guess the easiest way to do this would be to drill a small hole through it, but how viable is this in reality? I appreciate this is probably a 'depends on the example in question' question, but how likely am I to reduce a lovely piece of history into a crumbled mess? Are these typically quite solid materials? Would their be a preferred material between a tooth or claw? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott

At first I was skeptical of this one, but it looks credible. I smell a Franklin Mint necklace becoming available soon. Or a lot of meg jewelry that didn't move well to date, selling soon. Cheers. Megalodon Necklace

I got this shark tooth necklace from the Odysea aquarium and was told it’s from the bottom of one of the aquariums, though the cashier didn’t know what kind of shark it’s from and I’d love to know!

My uncle got me this shark tooth necklace from Hawaii but doesn’t know what kind of shark it’s from and I’d love to know!

Last year, for my very first holiday time at work, I received a bottle of wine and an ammonite from Madagascar necklace from my secret Santa. The necklace was one of the best gifts I have ever received, hands down! I have worn it almost everyday for a year and today, sadly, I discovered that the ammonite is broken. It is still held together by the metal (outline?), but it is loose. I want to save this, as it has a lot of sentimental value to me. I have some Paraloid B72 that is 5% paraloid/95% acetone. Would this be useful if I was able to seal the outside of it? Please tell me I can save it so I can continue to wear it. I feel lost, especially at work, when I’m not wearing it. I’ve uploaded pictures of the breaks, but if there is any confusion please let me know and I can clarify. Thank you so much!

Hello... I have some cut ammonite fossils but they are not flat like the picks I see above (nice job!)...how can I grind it down? I tried a big ol' metal file, but it takes a long time just to get some dust off. Do I need to have it cut thinner? Is this something I can do? I want to make necklaces out of them...but... Any and all suggestions are welcomed! Thank you
