Hello, I found this really nice shell today. I've seen you can tell bivalves and brachiopods apart by symmetry, but I'm not sure with this one, I thought bivalve, but I'm not certain. Also if anybody could tell me the genus or species, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Genuine theropod dinosaur eggs?
MohammadAAK posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello all! ive recently purchased this piece (I know I should have consulted beforehand) but I only saw it the last minute before the auction ended. I would still love some insight on it and maybe an actual idea of its locality and species (or genera). The seller claims there is no restoration other than gluing different parts together. He also claims its Enlongatoolithidae either raptor or oviraptor or other therapoda. I would love to have better information on it and even its locality in China, since I assume that’s where it’s from. The fossil is 15 cm long. Unfortunately these are the best photos I could get for the timebeing until it arrives. Best wishes to all, Mohammed -
This is the second item I purchased. It’s about 6.5” from Kem Kem in Morocco, any idea if it’s real, seller claims this is world-class and has minimal restoration, and the tip is natural

Real machairodus/smilodon teeth?
MohammadAAK posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello all, Recently I purchased a pair of tooth from a seller who sold me real keichousaurus and another real frog fossil based on forum opinions. He says this pair is from the same animal. I don’t even know if it’s Smilodon or Machairodus, nor do I have information about locality except that it was originally from China. Main reason I’m asking the forum is that as this is my first time owning saber cat teeth I’m not sure if they are always this light? 31-33 grams per piece only. It doesn’t seem cast with the great amount of detail. And about restoration it was broken and repaired, which is what the seller also said. Best wishes- 10 replies

Hi All, I picked up this rock in my back yard a couple of days ago. I picked it up because I saw a couple cross sections of rugose coral and some fenestrate bryozoan fossil pieces. When looking at it later, I noticed this feature. I haven't found anything like this before. Is this just a different type of bryozoa? These little marks also look like some tiny Platycrinite crinoid pieces. This was found in Howell County, Missouri, USA. It came from the Ordovician Period. These lines measure approximately 23mm in length and measure approximately 0.79mm wide. The individual spots are oval in shape and measure approximately 0.38x0.79mm. I don't know if it shows well in the first image, but this feature appears to be in a fracture in the host rock. There is still some rock covering the feature in the fracture. Any assistance or direction that you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Doug

Hello all, i was offered this keichousaurus and was wondering if someone has an idea if it’s authentic, judging from the photos only. The seller describes it as museum quality. And it’s supposed to be seven inches. These are the best photos I was able to get. It is supposedly from China from an old collection exported in the 80s. Best wishes

Genuine theropod dinosaur egg?
MohammadAAK posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello all, I saw one seller online listing this piece for auction. I'm interested in bidding but the fact the seller is from Taiwan worries me. Other than that, the egg looks nice. Seller says it might be a small tyrannosaurus or large therapod egg. Locality is noted as "East Asia", which I assume is china. And the description says this is from an old Chinese collection exported in the 80s. Cretaceous of East Asia. Best wishes -

Real Or Fake Megalodon Tooth?
connorfc posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
hi ive always wanted a megalodon tooth i just bought this one...does this tooth look in anyway restored or faked? please let me know thank you. -
Hi everyone, I just purchased this megalodon from the fossil store I work at (they are very kind trustworthy people). It looks pretty real to me and microscope pictures look real too (I can include if needed) I wasn't skeptical until I saw how uniform the broken basal looked. I heard fakes are usually perfect but maybe this fake is broken so people would assume it wasn't a fake? Anyways, everything looks pretty nice and real and there is even a slightly visible white spot under the black on the front of the tooth (where maybe the real enamel underneath is showing.) Please, any feedback would be great.

hi from France my first post ..... I've found this scapula (i thought it was?) in a french burdigalien (inferior miocéne) site (Cestas 33 Gironde France) I thought it was from a sea mammal animal , but the very light bone structure make me think that it could be a (very) big bird coracoid bone (like pelagornis?) So your feelings??? (sorry for my poor english..)

Morning everyone, was wondering if this Keich looks real. Seller claims it’s from guizhou xingyi Triassic deposits. It is 18cm by 9cm

Found this while rock hunting on the Rush River in Wisconsin. Brought it home thinking the cavities might be indication of an agate. After I cleaned it up all I could see was a skull. Is that possible? It was partially submerged in the river and measures about L10"xH5"xW4".

This has been took to the university of hull and the professor of geology could not explain it. What are your thoughts and opinions? Does this look real or fake? One of the residents from my residential home bought it from a charity shop.
