Looking for some tips. I've been given an older CP 9361 but want to get a new stylus. Looking at getting it from Paleotools. What my question to you prep pros is what stylus would you recommend? I'm thinking the 1.5' or 2' pointed stylus? Will be mostly doing trilobites and plants in shale and mudstone. @Kane @piranha

Hey everyone! I have a lot of fossils that I need to prepare from the White River Formation and was wondering what the best air scribe is to prep that type of matrix. The matrix can get very tough to breakthrough. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Has anyone used the Fossil Shack Air Scribe? How does it compare to the Paleotools Micro Jack line?

Hello fossil people of the world! I'm desperately looking for an old Paleotools microjack. It doesn't have to be in working condition, but if it is that's a bonus! Anyone out there have an old secondhand one or one they are no longer using? I'm ideally trying to find a 3, but any size will do. I have borrowed a 3 but need to return really soon. So hoping someone out there has a secondhand one to sell! Or any ideas of where a used one can be purchased? I do very fine work on ribs and finger bones like on the picture I've attached, so the larger scribes are a bit too hardcore!

Hello, prep friends! Does anyone have exact specs on the stylus/pins for the CP and Paleotools units? I just purchased a knockoff and this diamond pin that it came with is totally useless. I want to replace it, but have no idea how compatible it will be with anything else.

One of my buddies I prep with has an old paleo aro tool that's ceased to function. Everything on the front end seems to be good, seal is in good condition, spring is good. Opened up the back end- the bronze shut off valve is in good condition, but is there supposed to be a spring there? I've tried both orientations of the shut off valve, and when I connect it to air pressure and turn in on it'll click once and then cease functioning. Asked him a few questions, he says he used some gun oil on it but there was no odd gunk. Any thoughts?
