I found this bone on the Peace River a couple of days ago. When fist looking at it I took it for just a chunk of bone. Further inspection leads me to believe it could be a patella or other sesamoid. I have a couple of mammoth patellas and the surfaces somewhat reminded me of them. I have not been able to find a match after repeated searches so I am asking for opinions on what it could be. Measurements: 2" x 1.5" x 1.25" or 52mm x 37mm x 30mm Same side different angle. Same side different angle.

Picked up the below bone a few weeks ago on a Peace River, FL hunt. My first impression was that it was a partial vertebrae. Second thought was a patella? After much searching I couldn't come up with a match that I believed was close enough to provide an ID. What I find most interesting is the protruding bump on one side and the corresponding indentation on the other. Maybe a tail bone? The specimen measurements: Inches = 3.75" long x 1.5" wide x 1.25" tall MM = 87mm long x 42mm wide x 38mm tall The ruler shown is MM.

I scrubbed as hard as I dared to try to remove the light brown particulate on this to make the articular surfaces clearer, but not much luck. I'll give it a shot as is. Not sure exactly what I found. I actually passed it up twice thinking it was chert until I got a closer look and saw osteoporosity along one edge. My best guess is epiphysis, but I'm not sure what from.

Found in South Texas, mostly Pleistocene. My husband found this piece this week, and even though it shows a lot of wear, it seems to have retained most of its shape. Vaguely resembles a patella to me. Maybe equus? Any ideas, or is it too worn to tell?

Picked up the below bone in the Peace River, FL last week. When it came out of the water I thought "knee cap". The only other one I have found was mammoth/mastodon so it was much larger. I have spent a lot time in the last week searching for a possible match and the closest I can come up with is bear patella. I am not 100% sure it is in fact a patella and if so bear. I would appreciate input to help ID the find. Thanks! Measurement: Inches - 2 5/16" x 1 7/8" x 1 1/4" MM - 56mm x 48mm x 28mm

I found this round bone in a streambed of green marl near Sewell, NJ. According to the Rowan University Fossil Park a few miles away, their green marl is Cretaceous. I think it's bone because of the spongy texture. I thought it was recent at first (my daughter found a recent jawbone with teeth in the stream) but this feels rocklike and sounds rocklike when tapped on a hard surface.
