I am fortunate enough to have such a huge amount of Middle Devonian Givetian material that I thought it best to put the older Middle Devonian stage, the Eifelian, in its own thread. There are some spectacular fossils here as well though! I thought a good place to start would be in the Formosa Reef, which I believe is quite early Eifelian. This tabulate coral and stromatoporoid reef continues similar complexes found from the Middle Silurian, see my: https://www.thefossilforum.com/topic/84678-adams-silurian/page/3/ thread from page three onwards for details. All these Formosa Reef specimens come from a delightful gift from my good friend @Monica who is a tad busy with life at the moment but is fine and still thinking of the forum. This outcrop can be found on Route 12 near Formosa/Amherstburg, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. This beautiful-looking specimen came to me with only a third of it revealed but I managed to get it this far after nine days of painful pin prepping. Monica found another one and posted it for ID here: https://www.thefossilforum.com/topic/105528-weird-circular-imprints-formosa-reef-lower-devonian/#comment-1172285 The specimen was identified by another Canny Canadian @Kane to be the little stromatoporoid sponge Syringostroma cylindricum. Hardly a reef-builder, but gorgeous nonetheless. It does have a little thickness to it, but not much. Beautiful! Pretty thin, actually. I love this Monica, thank you!

Possible reasons for survival of proetidan trilobites past the Devonian
DD1991 posted a topic in Questions & Answers
It's well-known that extinction events at the end of the Devonian wiped out all trilobite groups except Proetida, which survived until the mass extinction at the end of the Permian. Has there been research in recent years as to why proetidan trilobites outlived the Devonian? -
Which Trilobite Genera Survived into the Carboniferous?
Top Trilo posted a topic in Questions & Answers
Exactly what the title says, I was wondering which trilobite genera survived into the Carboniferous period. There is this paper, Weller, J. Marvin. “Carboniferous Trilobite Genera.” however I haven't been able to find a free copy online and its 86 years old so a little outdated. . There is also this, https://www.trilobites.info/lasttrilos.htm, from Sam Gon's trilobite website which has all the Trilobite genera of the Permian but obviously doesn't include the ones that went extinct during the Carboniferous. I was going to just search for the time frame for each of the trilobite genera in the order Proetida as that's the only order that survived past the Devonian (unless you count Aulacopleurida as an order and not suborder) however I had lots of difficulty finding basic information for many genera. As always, thank you for any help anyone gives.- 8 replies

So I am trying to add a new trilobite to the collections. I have recently become the proud owner of a rather new and uncommon species of trilobite. It is presently listed as a Koneprusites sp. I don't come from the world of research academia, and am not particularly skilled at finding published papers pertaining to specific species. I am wondering if one of our trilobite experts could point me in the direction of some research materials and perhaps an author citation for the Koneprusites. Any info would be greatly appreciated. @piranha, perhaps you have some thoughts? Thank you all in advance!

These are my extinct animals: I made these 3D models made in Maya for fun and i even sold some of them online I'm not sure how accurate they are i just used images as reference maybe some people can give me hints on how to improve them Right now i don't have more rendered images, i will ad more in the future Proetida - i don't know the exact species, i just found some images in google of a trilobite and i made it _______________________________________ Pikaia - From the Cambrian Burgess Shale _______________________________________ Velociraptor - Not finished yet _______________________________________ Dunkleosteus - Just the basic shape yet
