Could anybody help with identifying this fossil, please? It was found on the shores of the Solway firth in Cumbria, England.
It is heavy in weight compared to other rocks of similar size. It fits comfortably into the palm of the hand. It is green and purple in colour and is smooth to touch with imprints and patterns that could be described as resembling sections of a scorpion tail, the head of wheat, scales or reptilian skin. There is detail all around the outside except on either of the ends.
If anyone has any idea, I would be very grateful to know.
Thanks in advance.
