I have acquired some very nice equipment for Rapid Prototype work. While on my vacation, I decided to put it to a test. I will start with the subject that was scanned using a Creaform Handyscan Black Elite. This trilobite is a very detailed high quality Drotops armatus is prone position. He has all the spikes (the real test to my equipment. I will just start with the photos of my subject.

Decided I would make a thread with my drawings, recently I decided to draw trilobites that are not necessarily proportional and I didn’t spend too much time on these just wanted them to be life size and recognizable, so far I have 19, I took ideas from @Kane trilobite drawings and @rew trilobite collection. I will add to this thread as I draw more fossils not only trilobites. You may not be able to read the labels partly from camera quality and mostly from my handwriting.

Hey All, A couple Dinosaurs from this week. @Bobby Rico motivated me to get back into watercolors/ painting again and unfortunately the results are not what I would like. The watercolor Aucasaurus sports multiple mistakes and errors, one being the lack of realism in the overall painting. The predators mottled coloring also caused problems as I strove for a dappled sort of camouflage. Its obviously time to get back to painting. The other dinosaur, Torvorsaurus, was drawn in pencil as a perspective exercise. While the piece lacks detail, the movement in the Torvosaurus creates a sense of excitement that adds to the overall drawing. The jaw in mid-roar was extremely difficult but it seems to have turned out well. I liked it better then the watercolor because of the watercolor's overall shoddiness. Thanks for looking Watercolor Perspective sketch
