Hello! I found this tiny fossil in the Chippewa River in Wisconsin. I was agate hunting and I picked up this rock because it shares the characteristics of an agate. When I flipped it over I was surprised by the tiniest little fossil! I am hoping to get some help with identification. The actual fossil is about as big of a pencil eraser.

Would love to gain some insight on these bones I recently found on an exposed river bank (east Texas) after a few weeks of heavy rain. Note: Vertebrae specimen measures approx 3x3.5 inches. Also wondering how ya'll differentiate between fossilized bone and modern bone specimens? Can modern bones change in appearance/feel and be confused with fossilized bone due to exposure to various elements? Thank you!

I recently found this partial tooth in Florida and I really think it’s dire wolf. It looks exactly like the upper carnassial dire wolf teeth online. The only measurement i have is that the thickest part of the enamel from top to bottom is 17mm thick, not accounting for wear. Can you guys confirm/deny? Thanks! filtered-3F76D20A-199B-4B93-8957-ACB17287FC39.mp4

Hi, my 5year old son found this in Chile, near Cochamo in a riverbed and the more I look at it I wonder how a stone got this texture. Maybe you can help us understand how this happened. It is about 13inches long and very heavy. Thanks!!

Here are a few molars that I’m stumped on. They were all found In NE corner of Kansas in some Permian (edit: not Permian) glacial drift material. Molar #1: Going through @Harry Pristis’s album, to me this one resembles Tapir, but I am doubtful Molar #2 I have no ideas on this one, initially guessed peccary but I think that is incorrect Molar #3 This one has some of the root, although some of the top surface has been broken Thank you to everyone in advance! I try to ID our fossils myself, but these I can’t seem to figure these out. Have a great day everyone

HI there, We found a horn on our recent trip to the Missouri River in the St Louis area. It appears to be at least partially mineralized. We have found many Bison teeth on the river sandbars but never a horn. We are hoping someone can help confirm whether it is in fact Bison or Cow. Thank you for any assistance with identification! Much appreciated!

Hi guys , I hope you can help me in identifying this rock .I found it in a small dry river in Catalunya. It is covered by small quartz or calcite crystals I think. I am not sure if it is a fossil, maybe a coral fossil? Thank you 🙏

Hi so I'm completely new to all of this and what I found was by accident and thankfully I got bored with me and my son's fish tank substrate because I would of just threw this back in the dirt. Anyways I was collecting rocks for the fish tank and brought a bunch home an took the most like ones inside to put in the fish tank and left the rest outside well months later I wanted to change the tanks look so I went through the pile of rocks when I noticed one of the coolest things I ever found then after looking on Google I seen a picture and thought it looked like another rock I found hopefully someone could please tell me what I found and if it's a more of a common or hopefully rare find. I do plan on going to try and find more. Thanks ( the first 9 pics are of what I found then the rest is what I found on Google # 1 # 2 # 3 Google Pics:

The shells on the bottom are abundant here in Edmonton along the North Saskatchewan river, does anyone know what they might be? The top one is more of an open spiral, the only one of its kind I've found. Thanks in advance ps - the tape measure is in cm/mm

Found this for sale somewhere, they are advertising it as a gar scale, but I don't think it is, although I could definitely be wrong. My first thought was maybe a scute of a crocodile, but I think that is also not it. Any ideas/ Thank you so much everyone in advance!

Dry Creek bed find. Very dense. I've cleaned it quite too heavily. It doesn't feel like any local stone that I'm aware. Initially believed it might be pet wood but more uncertain since I over did it. You rock!

I found this on the bottom of the river in southeast Missouri. I've never seen anything like it. Any ideas?

Hey all, I'm new to this so don't rip me up too hard. I found this odd shaped rock in a New Brunswick river famous for being the location where they found a mastodon fossil in 1939. It stood out to me because it wasn't round like all the other river rocks in the water. I was thinking it kind of looks like petrified wood, but I wouldn't know. Any help would be appreciated IMG_4593.mov

Found these on different sand banks along the Kansas (Kaw) River east of Lawrence. They are definitely fossils, and I believe they are some sort of tooth or molar, but I am no expert. Any ideas or positive ids appreciated! ps: this is my first post measured in metric in photos

Since the group was so helpful with this post, I thought I would ask again with a couple of rock finds from last week's fishing trip on the Flathead River in south eastern British Columbia. I found several rocks that looked like these two in the next three pics. This rock is about 12" long and the next two pics are the same rock from different angles. The "shards" in the rock caught my attention. Are they fossils? This is a different rock from the previous one, but it had the same type of shards. This next rock contains what appears to contain segmented worms, or cases. The first picture with the ruler is the rock face-on. The following two pics are of the rock from either end. Does this rock contain fossils? Thanks!

Hi there, Made an account to help with ID. I found this along the river Thames, London, UK at work. Rock nerd friend has never seen anything like it, but thinks something - a barnacle? - in some flint. A "flint inclusion in cortex" she said. Whole rock is ~3x5cm. The cool bit is maybe 1cm in diameter. Anyone seen one of these before? Thanks

I found this rock (far Southwestern Minnesota) by a river in a pile of rocks placed their by the city. It’s possible it just came from construction and isn’t a fossil at all. But it’s also possible it was naturally occurring in the river as it was down near the water and the river has been a lot lower than normal. I have zero expertise with fossils, and was wondering if anyone recognized this as something. The “fossil” has 9 identifiable segments of concave rectangles all the same width and length, that curve around the rock. Any comments are appreciated!
