Hello community, due to the coronavirus, Virginia Tech amongst many other schools forced evacuation of campus, so I was forced to go down to VT to quickly clear out my dorm. I ended up staying at my brother’s house for a few days with him and my girlfriend just to enjoy the peace of the empty school. Yesterday, my girlfriend and I drove down to Pearisburg and hiked to see the cemetery then to hike up the Appalachian Trail to Angel’s Rest. On the way down the Appalachian Trail, I began inspecting what I believe to be as shale and noticed a small shell imprint. I began fiddling around with more of the rocks and then directly into the side of the mountain looking for more shells or other possible fossils. I noticed a shell shaped stone in one of the rocks and I would appreciate verification that it is/is not a fossil. Also, same goes for the tiny protruding dots on the last fossil. Lastly, all identification would be very helpful (I barely know anything about fossils in this area and only know this area was covered by a sea during the Silurian/Ordovician period because of limited research).
