What is the etiquette on returning to spot shown to me by a fossil hunting guide? Last year a guide took me and some others to a nice creek in South Carolina. It's really the only spot I know of. Is it okay to return to it on my own, or is that frowned upon?

Found these while sifting in a creek in Summerville SC. Not sure if this a fragment of a tooth or some sort of rock/mineral growth. There's some strange layering on them and I havent seen anything like it before. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I’m from Jersey and I like to go fossil hunting around here but I’m looking to find bigger and more interesting teeth. The teeth I find here bar biggest an inch and it’s rare to find one that big. I’m going on a trip out to South Carolina. Anyone have any tips or any places I can use to go to To find bigger teeth?

Hello - I found the fossil pictured in North Myrtle Beach 2 weeks ago while on vacation. I initially thought it was wood and was moving it out of the way to search for teeth and fossils, but the heavy weight made me take a closer look. It is about 3 " long, 1.25 " thick, cylindrical and slightly curved. This was my first time hunting for fossils. I did not see anything online that resembles this. It is obvious the fossil was broken on both ends at one point. Any help in IDing what this could be would be appreciated! Thank you!
