It's a mythic col in the history of the cycle race Tour de France, a hard pass to reach and the cycles amateurs love to climb it. Hi, i tried a new spot : marls from the Maestritchian with ridges of marly limestones, above them are limestones from the Dano-Montian. There, according to the geologic informations i have, you can find Pachydiscus, Hamites, Echinids, Inocerams, Brachiopods. I found this piece and i first thought it was an oyster, but now i wonder if it could be a part of a rudist. It is about 11 centimeters long for about 10 centimeters of width. The whole block is very heavy.

In the marly limestones i picked up last saturday, i took this one because it looks fun. I wonder what are those holes : dessication, rain drops, other water imprints or none.

Hi, i wish a good day for all of you. I've visited another new place where i could find miocene plant material in a ligniteous clay.It had rain for days there and the place is covered by vegetation, so i only looked on the border of a road and i found those two items. First photos are taken in daylight, others under a magnifying glass and artificial light. The scale is in centimeters. 1)
