Hey all, new to fossils and Fossil Forum. I was looking to buy a suchomimus tooth and was wondering if I could get some input on this one I was looking at. According to the seller it is from Elrhaz Formation of Niger. From my own research, serrations look right for a suchomimus tooth. Since I am an amateur I'd appreciate input from others though. below are pictures of the tooth by the seller. Thanks yall

Hello, i am interested in bidding for this tooth. Description says that its a weirdly formed croc tooth, but i think its a Suchomimus premaxillary tooth instead. From all what i know, croc teeth are always a circle in the cross section and dont have striations. The tooth has no visible serrations, but a flat area at the back. Thats why i think its a premaxillar tooth.

With the recent marktet and the introduction of Suchomimus tenerensis teeth, i was wondering what are your biggest and best Suchomimus teeth from there? I currently own a serrated and partially rooted tooth that is close to 3.5 inches. But show me all of yours!

I am really considering aquiring this claw. I would have to sell some stuff for it but I really want to be sure. Handclaw of a Suchomimus. Niger. Besides the obvious repair and prep it needs. Do you guys see issues or things to avoid?

Looking at purchasing this claw and it’s labeled as a suchomimus foot claw. There is restoration but was told only the tip has been restored. Is there more resto on this claw or any other red flags from what you can see. Any info on this claw will be appreciated!

I was given these teeth by a friend many many years ago and they were identified as plesiosaur teeth. They are from Niger, Africa. I looked and found no record of plesiosaurs ever being found in Niger. I also did a bit of compairing with other plesiosaur teeth and found no match. One of them looks to me to be from a suchomimus or some other spinosaur (judging by the grooves on the tooth). The other two look to be from some sort of crocodyloform, possibly stolokrosuchus.

Is anyone able to actually ID a claw like this? It is 9CM straight. Footclaw or handclaw even? Niger claw as you can see. And I am aware there is not that much information to ID a claw. But this one is pretty much complete.

Hey guys, I saw this listed as a suchomimus tooth. I know suchomimus tooth is quite rare and I don’t have much experience with it. Do you guys think it’s really a suchomimus tooth?

Hello, latley I am starting to see some suchomimus claws on the internet. I think that I also saw some vender with those claws in Tucson thanks to @Troodon post. I wanted to make a topic in the ID section to know if someone has acces to a paper or knows of some material that helps Id this as suchomimus. Because rigth now my feeling is that if somebody finds a spinosaurid type of claw in Elrhaz Fm they just label it suchomimus and that's it. I will leave here some photos here of what i found (take ito account that some of them have restorations mostly in the tip):

Is it suchomimus teeth?
LordWampa posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello, I need again your help as I see it's better to ask for your opinion before buying anything. Are this suchomimus teeth? They are in theory from Elrhaz Fm in Gadoufaoua, Téneré Desert, Niger. Is it normal that given that all of them come from the same place there are so many diferent colors? And with tooth 1, and the pack of 4 are they missing all the enamel, because with this colors in this particular case I am not sure if it's enamel or not. Thanks! Tooth 1. Multiple spinosaurs in the elrhaz formation?
Per Christian posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
I know @Troodon posted a guide to identify theropod teeth from Niger, and in it there's only one spinosaur; suchomimus. But are there any indications of multiple spinosaurs as of yet in the elrhaz? Most likely there were I'm sure but i don't know what data exists -
I've seen this listed as an unidentified partial theropod hand claw from the elrazh formation, Gadoufaoua, tenere dessert Niger. I can't see any red flags but I'm Leary of claws.. the bone structure looks right to me but what do people here think? It's 4.5 cm long

Hi all, I'm quite certain this is suchomimus, but just to be sure, what say people here? The base has the elongated shape of suchomimus, and it has carinae on both sides as far as I can tell @Troodon
