Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows what species or any other identifying features that might help me obtain some raw material similar to the fossils Rolex used for their fossil stone dial watches they used to make. I assume this is some species of small sea creatures but I have yet to locate similar material. I like the very fine texture and it’s perfect for inlay material for stone mosaics.

hndmarshall posted a topic in Fossil ID
found this tiny thing it did not look like much at first just a tiny knot of something covered in something so into the bath with others it came out looking completely different after cleaned it even looks polished to a degree....but as for what it is i have no idea... found in gravel pile in west Houston...gravel is from the Brazos river. -
I just bought these for my tiny brachiopods and other small fossils. The batting inside has black velvet on one side and white on the other, so you can flip to whatever background you like. The boxes are plastic. The window is glass. They are about 1 inch (2.54 cm) square. Thought I'd share in case others have similar needs.
