I found this earlier today while me and my dog was at the creek looking for arrowheads. I'm sure it's not but it reminds me of a toe or that's what comes to mind every time I look at it and the ball at the end is where it would have connected to the foot. but at the same time it looks like a rattlesnake rattle but I don't know if they were even a species back then for all I know it's just the stalk of a plant either way I'd like to find out so I can add it to my collection. Any insight into what I have here would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance. This was found in iron county of Southeast Missouri.

Hello, What are the thoughts on these two bones. No positive id given or a county more specific than Hell Creek Montana and said as possibly a toe bone. There are two bones. The first one has a bunch of photos and is approximately 2cm long. The 2nd one only has just two photos --- is number 2 the end of a metatarsal? Number 2 is approximately 3 cm long. Sorry there's not much more info on location. Thanks for the help

Hi, Any thoughts on the ID of this? It is labelled as a theropod toe bone from Kem Kem. 5cm x 4. The preservation seems odd to me. Most toe bones sold from Kem Kem seem to be that distinctive yellowish orange color. Is the theropod ID right, or is croc/reptile? Thanks for the help

I saw this from an online store. It was said to be a toe bone of a dinosaur from Madagascar. It is pretty large, is it really a dinosaur toe bone?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I hope I can find identification with the help of this forum, I don't know much about fossil, I'm interested in everything that's old and in history in general. This summer my 5y old son found the attached bone(?) at a beach in Poland (city of Sopot) and i didn't thought much about it. Yesterday I used Google lense and it displayed other similar bones of raptor(?) Toe bones. Maybe you guys know more about it, i thank you in advance for your help. My son is super interested in dinosaur of course and i try to give him as much knowledge about History as possible. Have a nice day and stay healthy Scale is in Centimeters

Hey, this is a bone that that my grandfather got with a bunch of other fossils for me and my siblings awhile ago before he passed away, I didn’t get interested in fossils till last year and found the jar with the other fossils most of the stuff in the jar were from Florida, but this one doesn’t look like most Florida fossils so I’m guessing it wasn’t found there. To me, it almost looks like some fossils I’ve seen from England, based on the mineralization and it’s super hard, what are your guesses on what it is?

Found this in Big Brook Nj. To me it looks like a phalanx or toe bone of a dinosaur based on shape, texture, color from research I did. Would appreciate any opinion you may have, please. My first post here, Great site and excited to be part of this fine community!

I think I found a toe bone same time I found the teeth from my last post and also where I found the sloth tibia in a previous post of mine. Peace river, Florida Bone Vally formation. I included a very short video so you can get a better look at it, my pictures do not really capture it well but I am getting better at taking pictures as I go. Out hunting today, and doing some prospecting. The weather was supposed to be warmer (high of 79), and the air was fine, but the water was cold. We had 3 hunters, but not many unique finds, a nurse shark and an unusual bone, neither found by me. When I say unusual, we are 3 experienced fossil hunters, and none of us has an ID.. Hopefully TFF can assist.

I picked up a little Hell Creek lot that hat this fossilized bone in it. I think it might be a theropod toe bone from looking around on the web at Hell Creek bones. Anyone with more experience (most everyone) have any opinions?

I know the general shape is right for a spinosaur toe claw, but I know spinosaur claws are a significantly faked thing, so getting someone who really knows what they're looking at, is the way to go!

Hello! I recently came back from a trip to the Netherlands, and while beach combing in the North Sea, I found this bone. I've been really curious as to what it may be, and even joined this site in hopes of discovering what it may have belonged too. I believe it's a phalanx bone, possibly of a bison from the pleistocene? That's really just a guess based off of others' pictures, so please, any info you can give would be wonderful! Sorry I don't have a ruler on hand for proper measurements, but it is roughly 8 cm in length and 3 cm in width. I put the lighter there to maybe give an idea of size

Hi, All. I don't have a clue what these are, but I'm guessing a bivalve of some kind? They came from the desert sand near Agadez, Niger, but that's all I know. The street merchant I got them from thought they were dino toes, but I'm guessing not.... The thing that confuses me the most (other than the fact that I haven't been able to find any pictures of bivalves that look like this) is that it doesn't look like the "shell" would actually close like a clam or mussel. Any and all help in identifying these would be most appreciated! Rob
