Hello neighbors. I am an old salt at finding treasure and am just getting my feet wet looking for fossils. Of course my feet are always wet during the cold season, as this is when I am most active in the streams and hills in Tennessee just North of Knoxville. Im always on the lookout for some awesome sites to uncover our history. Thanks for letting me introduce myself and I hope to run into some of you in the field.

Hi everyone, I'm an historic shipwreck diver / treasure hunter with a constant desire to go exploring, searching and discovering like most here I would imagine. We only dive in the summer so in the winter my desire to hunt for SOMETHING overwhelms me. I started hunting fossils in the interim and a friend showed me some spots and taught me the basics of how to find stuff, so here I am. I like all fossils, but have really started to love the structures in agatized coral and geodes from the Tampa Bay area where I live. I have been an artifact conservator for many years tasked with removing calcium carbonate matrix from artifacts found on the sea floor. Lately I've been experimenting with the methods used for shipwreck artifacts and seeing what I can accomplish on the fossilized coral I find. I'm new here, so if anyone can easily point me in the direction of the methods used on agatized coral by the pro's that would be great, otherwise I will be searching and posting and learning! Looking forward to corresponding with the knowledge base here. Here are a few specimens I am finishing up. Jason

Hello all, I was out causing some trouble in my backyard a couple of days ago when I stumbled onto this little guy. I don't really have an idea of how old this find is or what I to do with it for more info since it's only a partial sample, but I would love to hear any details y'all might have to share about this! If you need more pictures please feel free to ask--I will be glad to provide any other info on the find. Happy hunting and have a great weekend!
