Hi all, I found this in far northern Minnesota near a river. The circle is on both sides of the 2" thick rock, so I am assuming that a cylinder extends through it. After looking at images online, I am thinking that it might be a fossilized tubeworm, but none of the photos that I've seen quite match. Northern Minnesota has obviously had a lot of glacial activity in the past (possibly Blackduck Formation in the location found), and this area has Neoarchean bedrock. Thank you for any information that you can provide!

Keewatin, MN, USA. Overburden pile from local iron mine. So I believe these to NOT be glacial erratics like my other fossils, which would be a first for me!!! Some obviously seem like clams of some sort, but what I stood out to me the most was the holes and subsequent worm-like things inside, most of which were loose enough to remove (albeit I broke most of them). My guess is they’re some kind of worms, any thoughts?

I unearthed this monster over 3 years ago while digging for a foundation. I luckily struck it with my shovel and not by backhoe. It was a very bland looking rock at first glance then I looked again and have been picking at this 38 lb rock since . I find something new every time I pick it up. So any help with what it is would be great.

Sorry, I’m really new to this. I found this in a parking lot where the used rocks instead of mulch for landscaping. I thought it was super cool and wondered what it was. This is a small piece of what we collected. I know my ruler is upside down, I just needed good light, which left no room for the ruler. Thank you!
