I'm an avid bush walker from the Pilbara Western Australia. I'm electrician by trade with no knowledge of geology or ecology. On Jan 6 2024 while out at Cooya Pooya. I came across some imprints on a slab A and B which look like a fossil to me. The area is volcanic as I have been informed predominantly igneous, dolerite. The Geology survey of the Fortescue Group, Pilbara Craton, Western Australia bulletin 144 has Cooya Pooya situated in the Hardey Formation in the middle of the Pilbara. My question is to determine if this could be a fossil imprints . These rock imprints were located on a steep 20 degrees rocky outcrop. one thing I noticed that was recently broken off a larger piece that was perpendicular, with little weathering in comparison with higher level rocks. This particular rock has been split into two A and B and the imprints circular and are roughly 30-40 millimeters. I have provided some landscape images to put into context its location next to a ridge I have added a link below to a document that has images of some similar fossilized jellyfish. figu.re 8
