So I've got this theropod indet tooth that's from the elrhaz formation, or so the seller claims anyway. The tip is missing and I'm wondering if it's due to feeding wear or erosion? The tooth seems to have been quite worn by the owner, the distal carinae is almost worn away, but i suspect it's also eroded some. The angle of the break makes me think it's feeding wear, but il not certain. Any help is appreciated! @Troodon @pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon

What type of claw could this be? Theropod or Sauropod or something else?
msantix posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi, Was wondering what type of claw this could be. It isn't complete and quite small at just over 4cm, but it looks robust which makes me think maybe either Theropod or Sauropod (or maybe croc). It comes from the Elhraz Formation, so maybe if theropod, Suchomimus might be an option. Is something like this identifiable and could it be a hand claw? or is there a lack of papers about claw fossils from this formation. Thank you!- 3 replies

Possible Suchomimus or theropod toe bone from the Elhraz Formation?
msantix posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi, Saw this for sale and was just wondering if this looks like a theropod toe bone or if it could be narrowed down? it is labelled as from Suchomimus but it could instead be from a croc or another theropod if not Suchomimus. It is 10cm in length and comes from the Elhraz Formation in Gadoufaouna, Africa. Thanks.- 8 replies
