Please tell me if this broken tooth belongs to a hyena and which one? I've heard speculation that it's Adcrocuta sp., maybe A.eximia. It comes from Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia region, Neogene sediments. Thank you!

Need some help with identifying this skull from Hezheng, China. The seller said it is a young adcrocuta skull, but I think it might be an ictitheriinae. The length of the skull is about 20 cm. Thanks for your help.

need some help identifying this, im pretty good with extant species but this stumped me. just purchased and has yet to come in the mail. seller didnt include any information except that it was a miocene hyena and these pictures. i know this is super vague, so no worries if we cant identify it i was told it could be a percrocuta, it measures 7-8 inches, 17-20 centimeters long i will be able to describe more when i receive it

Hey everyone! I have found a nice looking skull online and wanted to get your opinion on it. It's an Dinocrocuta (early hyena) fossil skull. It supposedly has some minor reconstruction and some glued back parts but that's it. what do you think?

Hi, some years ago i inherited this lion tooth (or hyena ?). As i broke it when i desengaged it from its matrix, i kept the matrix without touching it until now. I knew it had something else inside. today i desengaged it and found this. It doesn't have the color of the tooth it was with, so, i wonder what it is : another tooth or maybe concretion ? Here is the lion tooth : Here is the piece i need help for identification : Thank you very much for your help. Cheers, Sophie.

Hi everyone! I need help! I Will have this specimens in a few weeks. The biggest one is Machairodus horibilis lower jaw, i hope so. I got these stuff from my friend from China. Also, as u can see there is a lower canine from a Cave Hyena. But it's somehow long and tick for a Hyena canine. I don't know what to think about the lower jaw, it's more similar to canids and Hyenas then to felids. And yes, at the end phalanx of ferret? If someone can help somehow to determine this, that Will help me a lot to know what's the real truth. Thanks guys again! Darko

Interesting article on a fossil tooth that his been "buried" in a museum vault for years. It was recently identified as a type of hyena that may have roamed the Arctic Circle. NYT subscribers, or those who haven't gone over a free limit, should be able to read. Cheers. Arctic hyena tooth fossil

A news story about the description of fossil hyena teeth from Yukon Territory in Canada is available online: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/06/190618070804.htm The discovery of fossil hyena teeth in Canada fills a gap in understanding the presence of fossil hyenas in the Midwest, showing that extinct hyenas entered North America from Mongolia via Beringia.

Hello! I won these two teeth from an auction and I am curious as to what they may be. It was listed as a fossil hyena tooth and a smilodon (which I do not believe given the location of the find and anatomy of the tooth, although it does have serrations). Any help would be appreciated =) The teeth are said to come from the Gansu Province, China. Dimension: 1st: 7.3 x 1.9 x 1.2 cm 2nd: 4.6 x 1.3 x 0.8 cm
