I found this fossil imprint while looking for arrowheads out in a farm field today in Parke County, Indiana (west central indiana). I’ve found a number of fossils from the area in my life but have never seen one like this. Anyone have an idea? The imprint does not continue around the other side of the rock. What you see in the image is all that’s there.

Does anyone know what this is? I found this rock in the wabash river bottoms in west central indiana two years ago. It’s not quite like anything I’ve seen around here (usually I get a ton of crinoids). The equidistant branches off the central ring remind me of a vertebrae, but that just seems too good to be true.

Hi, I’m new to the forum. I’m 27 and from western central Indiana. I have been interested in fossils my whole life but only recently within the last few years tried to identify the fossils I’ve found. Yesterday I found this strange design on this rock which is probably sandstone while hiking in a small stream. I’ve never seen anything like it before. Any help identifying this would be much appreciated.

Hello everyone! I went to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana to do some geode hunting. We had some pretty decent luck, although we still have a lot to crack open. This was the edge of a shallow creek that was rocky with a little bit of sand/mud. I also found some interesting crinoids, much larger than I typically find at Lake Michigan or St. Leon. One of them even seems to be crystallized (I included a photo of this just because of think its pretty cool). I picked up one rock that I couldn't seem to identify. My guess is either a shell, coral, or bone. Any clues or identification would be appreciated since unknown fossils drive me crazy. Thanks and hopefully I'll get some photos of my Mazon Creek and St Leon trilos up soon.
