I have 2 different teeth, that I would like input on. The first one was listed as a Daspletosaurus, and was found in the Two Medicine Formation. The second tooth comes from Point Bar Deposit River bed.

Hello fellow fossil fanatics - I was recently almost tricked into purchasing an “african t-Rex” tooth. I am very interested though in purchasing the real thing. Anyone have any advice or tips on how to source and value appropriately? Thank you in advance for all your help!

Hell Creek South Dakota ID help possible trex rooted premax tooth
DSMissed posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi there! I'm looking to get some help with several Hell Creek South Dakota fossils. Most of them I have a general idea, but I am just not experienced enough to make much more than an educated guess. So I welcome input from others. I've had this piece for several years, and apparently I have learned something because when I dug it out of the fossil box, I immediately recognized it as the root of a tooth. Upon some searching, much of it on this forum, it seems that it is most likely a Trex or nano rooted premaxillary in pretty rough shape. Unfortunately most of the serrations are either missing, or so worn that they are barely visible. I bought this bone fragment from a reputable gallery/dealer on a recent trip to Arizona. It's labeled as a bone from a Tyrannasaurus Rex, so I couldn't pass it up. It's only a few inches, it fits easily in a 4"x4"x1" box. I'm sure it is a fossil, but as it's not a full six foot long femur, I question how people can identify this as a T-Rex bone fragment, unless it was a piece of shattered bone found with the rest of the recognizable skeleton. Which leads me to the next question, I was under the impression that very few t-Rex skeletons have been found (or is it complete skeletons?). I appreciate everyone's insight and feedback, and happy to answer any questions anyone may have!
