It was scheduled for yesterday, but due of rain and snow, it was postponed to this morning... and it was good, because some friends from Michigan had more time to reach the meeting location in Eastern WY. So... 4 Michiganians, 2 Casperians, 2 Italians and 2 sparkling clean trucks headed toward the Cretaceous Pierre shale location in the middle of nowhere. Diana found a nice scaphite, other people performed better, finding gorgeous ammonites... and it was just the warming up :) to be continued... We drove for more than 15 miles the wet and muddy roads of WY... it was very slippery for the 3 days before big rains and also it was my first time driving in those extreme conditions, and do you know what? It was very funny to be continued... again Tell me JP is hooking you up on some nice verted stuff right ?? Telling my age here Back in the day when off roading, 4 wheel driving, was the w/e craze. I had a best friend he owned a 4 wheel drive chevy blazer. We took that thing every where off roading. Those were the days :) If it wasn't muddy or wet it was not worth driving on... Sorry... it was not my intention to kill anyone, but my laptop battery was low. Anyway the wind quickly dried the badlands. At first glance the soil seemed unfossiliferous... what a big mistake! Please... do not tell this to JP ;) All the friends did well: Jp got a whole Oreodont skeleton... it is hard to see in the photo, Lisa found two Glyptodon skull plates, the Michiganians found a very nice turtle mold with some shells still in place and a lot of beauties including mammal bones bitten by rodents. Probably less than 10 have been found of the Codiopsis pulchella he picked up in Texas! Go Nando!
