Texas Baby Ammonites?

Hey All

During my prep of another ammonite I found these two small guys. Are they infant ammonites or gastropods?

I think they are ammonites, but I couldnt say if they are "babies" or just a very tiny version.  I have found many of them while prepping out big ammos from the Duck Creek.  Sadly, theyve never been savable for me.

These could just as easily be gastropods, but it's difficult to tell from these photos. You would need to prep them out a bit and show views from the side and better close-ups.

Thanks for the responses. I will do what I can with any prep work but definitely work on better photos. They are pretty brittle.

Their problem is that they aren't really "there".  The shells long ago dissolved, so these are just a limestone mold of where it used to be.  So its a limestone mold inside a limestone rock.  You'll just have to get lucky that one has a really good weakness plane around it that allows the outer rock to pop away cleanly.
