As per Forum rules, we cannot provide valuations.

Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you do not have a fossilized snake head. It’s a suggestively shaped rock.

@Time is there any logical rationale that might cause you to realize this is not a snake fossil, or are you convinced beyond any doubts?

Nope. Not a snake head. Things don't fossilize like that.

It's a cool rock, but not a fossil in any way, shape, or form.

I can understand how you would imagine these things to be snake like in appearance, but I can assure you it is not a fossilized snake head.

As Fossildude19 mentioned, things just don’t fossilize this way. Snake or not.

What you are experiencing is a case of Pareidolia. It’s a natural human phenomenon and happens to the best of us. Like seeing animals in the clouds or faces in the moon.

  • Fossildude19 changed the title to Fosilized snake head

Fossil snake skulls are pretty rare in the fossil record.  They like most skulls consist of individual elements that are fused together as seen in these two examples from the internet and not a solid item like yours.  Although yours may have some features that appear like a skull its just a cool rock that resembles one.
