North Louisiana Shark Teeth?

Found the roundish one in a sand stone river behind the Toledo bend dam in North la. The other was found atop a hill on my deer lease. Just wanting to know what species they derived from. I was told the round one might be from Ptychodus or a very deceptive iron concretion.

For what it is worth, the "Ptychodus" tooth looks to me a lot like the internal cast from a coral polyp. Not saying anything definitive as I know nothing of the fossils in your area but it is another possible lead to investigate.

Cheers.

The ridges of a Ptychodus tooth would not terminate or become granulated at the crown top but rather at the margin or crown base. Sorry to say, but this is likely not a Ptychodus tooth fragment.
