Suggestions for Prepping Whitby Dactyloceras

Happy New Year!  I'm looking for some suggestions on how to more effectively prep some Dactyloceras.  These are in Whitby nodules.

The matrix surrounding them is too small to split.  I've done a few with a dremel using Zoicpaleotech points with some success. But the inner

whorls are not coming out as I'd like.

I would appreciate any help  Thanks!

Though I am quite new to fossil prep, I am in a similar position and in this case I would switch to one of their sharper/finer tips at a very low power so as to not damage the inner whorls. If this doesn't work you could try a prepping or dental pick (though this would not be very effective/be very hard on some types of rock). Hope this helps.

At the bare minimum, use the smallest stylus you can and use some magnification to make the viewing better. I don't touch a prep without a minimum of 5x magnification (that's on huge bones. Microscope work is 10x or greater. Your field of view is much smaller but the results are exponentially better. I'm running at 50X on my bird prep.
