Nautilus fossil?

Hello there community. I just bought a nautilus in the Yucatán peninsula. It looks real to me. Its a present for my boy who is a enthusiast of paleontology. Its a octopus pin now. 
hope anyone can help me with more info of this “fossil”.

This looks quite like the Cleoniceras ammonites from Madagascar. Real, and generally inexpensive, as they are so numerous.

You can tell it's an ammonite by the suture patterns visible in the last picture.

Not an octopus -- an octopus has eight tentacles.
