Ludwigia
It's a discombobulated ammonite steinkern in a concretion. Where did you find it? 1 3 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
FossilDAWG
The pattern of fine lines are suture lines, which indicate you have an ammonite fossil. Don 1
New Members Emmet Holmes Posted April 9, 2023 Author New Members Share Posted April 9, 2023 Thank you both! I can now see the pattern with many others. I found this in Norfolk, England yesterday. Along with many Belemnite fossils. A piece of land being quarried. Do you think there is any good way to clean it? Could it survive being reduced or attempting to crack away any concrete
Ludwigia
It looks to me like the outer whorl is broken into pieces which are only held together by the matrix and there may not be be any inner whorls in the middle, so in my opinion it wouldn't really be worth breaking it down any more, although on second thought, one could take a chance at chipping away at the middle to see if any inner whorls could be found.
