New Members Shai Hulud Posted May 26, 2023 New Members Share Posted May 26, 2023 First time posting, i dug lurking for a while. Looking for some help to figure out what this is? Found in a region that could be Mississippi or PennSylvanian . Looks like some kind of segmented something or other, worm or something. but I don't know. Let me know if any of you are able to tell what this is! I tried to use light to enhance the detail from different angles. 1
connorp
Very interesting. I'm thinking this is a trace fossil of some sort.

The University of Kansas Paleontological Contributions, 31:1-7 PDF LINK Wow, thanks. Doing a Google image search of Scalarituba missouriensis brings up many photos that look JUST like it, including a thread with a photo from this forum! Thank you, thank you. I wanted to see if that was all of it or if it was part of something larger and I have my answer. So not something rare but glad to have an ID. Was hoping it was a dinosaur bone (lol jk). Hopefully not blasphemy here but it's serving as an Aquarium rock for my African cichlids.
