Diamond in the rough - Whitby Nautilus

When I picked up this partial, larger wave battered nautilus at Whitby I didnt have much hope for it. Nautilus are rare from the Yorkshire Coast, this is from the upper lias.

I gave it to my friend Malcom who has done a fantastic job removing the incomplete outerwhorls and has left me with a beautifully preserved middle.

It even has some of the outerwhorl as a lovely display stand.

The nautilus and the beautiful display stand complement each other, creating a stunning work of art.

Very nice!
